We had lunch here and really enjoyed the fantastic views, service and food. We even bought a T Shirt ! We had eaten lunch at Paranga the previous day, which is located immediate below Umi. Umi was so much nicer. Less crowded, better service, better food. Our waiter Tony was very friendly and we liked his food suggestions. With all... More

Being one floor above the street, meant that the view of the sunset was even better! Although the servings were small, the food was tasty. Estelle was our waitress and she was great. I would return, again.

We read alot of mixed reviews about this place before we arrived and decided not to try it, with all the choice in Camps Bay. However one evening we arrived back from a day down the Cape a bit late and found several restaurant kitchens were already closed. The menu looked good at Umi and they were still open, so... More

When our waiter came to the table and announced "our portions are very small but we concentrate on quality not quantity " alarm bells should have told us we were in for trouble... Umi is a new " modern style Japanese" restaurant on the overpriced ,"tourist trap" Camps Bay strip...& part of the Kove Kollection ( which includes Bungalow,Paranga and... More

A great spot and lovely venue but with small portions it can get expensive if you are hungry! Great bar area if you arrive early and want to sit for a moment and soak up the cool vibe. The good is great, we were warned the portions are small but still found ourselves ordering more dishes as we went as... More

A great mix of traditional sushi and some modern varieties using local and Namibia seafood. Service was good and they were happy to split the bill. Dishes are decent in size so air on the side of caution as you can order more and it will come quickly. I highly recommend the crab dishes.

Almost a 4 out of 5. Enjoyed this restaurant on a tuesday night in Jan...busy season but quiet evening. Service was just fine, and the huge dining room is open to a large terrace with views over camps bay. We sat just inside so we felt cozy but enjoyed some beach air. The food was beautifully presented and tasty, however... More

A great restaurant at Camps Bay offering a great view. The food is innovative and delicious. Service crisp, add an excellent wine list and it's the whole package. Must book, especially w/e's as it gets very popular.

We walked into the restaurant for a few drinks before sunset after a day touring Cape Town, and ended up staying for dinner. The view is amazing and the staff were very friendly. The food was incredibly tasty too. I highly recommend the beef fillets - the beef was one of the best cooked and nicest fillets I've ever had!... More

We decided to try Umi on one of the busiest Saturday evenings of the summer season, and it was terrific from start to finish. We travel often to Cape Town and we've sadly become used to the standard South African restaurant experience of good intentions, but often poor service and foodwise, quantity over quality. Umi was the exact opposite of... More
