We came here three years ago. We love the setting, sunset, view and the colonial style bar. We had booked a balcony position but when we arrived someone was sat there and the waiter seemed reluctant to move them, even though we had booked. We decided to sit inside. It is always busy, very popular for obvious reasons. The food is snacking tyoe - my husband had a mini hamburger platter - really good. I had a chicken salad - also good. There was a really good guitarist/singer on which made the atmosphere very pleasant. Even though busy it is a definite must when in Cape Town.

This bar has the best atmosphere and the staff are on the tip of their toes to serve you. The couches are comfy and you don't want to leave. The balcony has great views. The food is delicious and the barmen were very creative with the most amazing non-alcoholic cocktails to make you feel like life is still out there during these dark covid times. Worth a visit.

A very nice and cosy ambiance.the view outside is just out of this world! Themed furnishings.the time we arrived the valet service was provided, the food was very nice we got to enjoy different types of confectionery and ☕️. I liked the cranberry tea and there was a certain rooibos that I don’t remember the name but is pregnancy friendly lol. Their tea varieties are very good. Complimentary champagne! I know I’m late but thank you Murielle! and well done serving a group of women who are very inquisitive can be a challenge . Shoutout to Dylan the assistant manager!!

The setting and ambiance is good, save for 40 minutes of Christmas songs in April. The service is very polite if sometimes scant. The cocktails are good. The wine list appears to offer poor comparisons to the house, Bouchard Finlayson, more expensive, offerings. The food in the hotel’s restaurants constantly refers to Bea’s recipes and one concludes she must be an average cook. The Leopard Bar has a lot of deep fried dishes. I wonder if the tempura prawns are in fact the same batter as the fish and chips. Beer batter. So I ordered the cheese board, which one hoped would showcase local cheeses. It appeared to be a selection of commercial cheeses served straight out of the fridge so that only the acrid smelling blue cheese would have tasted. When so much simple, fresh food is available locally, it is a shame none is offered as an option.

Having been to the Leopard Bar a few times before, we looked forward to going back for an early supper with sundowners. The Caesar Salad was a disappointment, as there was no baby gem lettuce as stated on the menu, just a mixture of cut up mixed lettuce leaves. The Caesar Dressing was just drizzled on top, instead of coating the lettuce with it, and there was not enough get any Caesar flavour Very little Parmesan Shavings and Anchovies as well. The Prawn Cocktail was extremely disappointing as well, with half a sliced avocado and a few prawns in Marie Rose Sauce. The Fish and Chips was the only decent meal!

Whilst staying at the 12A we visited the Leopard bar numerous times for lunch, drinks and dinner. On all occasions we were served delicious food and drinks. Fernando was exceptional with his service and taking the time to have a chat. The view from the bar is incredible especially at sunset. The fish and chips were incredible, we even returned on the last night just to have them again! Overall a beautiful spot with a beautiful fire, lovely atmosphere and live music on a Saturday evening as the sun goes down!

Beautiful setting in a lovely unusual bar. The drinks plus the snacks were a lovely treat after a long day. Delicious house wine plus a delicious wrap. The fries initially were cold and not crispy but they were replaced by pleasant wait staff.

I laughed as I walked in. The bar is more like a novelty theme bar, with colonial era dressings. The most ludicrous element is the bar staffs uniforms - a ridiculous leopard print waistcost... The drinks were good and not unreasonably priced, and the view is remarkable, but I'm glad we stopped in for a drink before dinner at the Azure (a separate review for that is submitted...), rather than going as a destination bar. If you want a fantastic view for sundowner drinks, there are so many more comfortable bars to visit in Cape Town

This was my second time to view a sunset at the Leopard Bar (located within the Twelve Apostles Hotel complex). My family garnered two tables on the veranda/ balcony overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. I live on the United States East Coast, so I get to enjoy the sunrises over the ocean. We ordered a light meal/ snacks and cocktails waiting for the sun to disappear over the horizon. Unfortunately, there was a storm at sea and cloudy on the horizon, so we did not enjoy the full sunset. On my my first visit during a crystal clear evening, the sunset was fabulous. After viewing the sunset, you can order a casual meal at the Leopard Bar or finer dining at the Azure. The sunset experience is a "hidden gem" which is not limited to the hotel guests. You will not be disappointed.

I had High Tea as a Pre Birthday celebration for my cousin who was turning 21. The Twelve Apostles was the venue of choice for obvious reasons. The beautiful Ocean views, the warm breeze, the hospitality of staff was everything ❤, from arrival we were treated like royalty. I had noted a few special requests with my reservation & all were meticulously attended to. Our charming water Fernando was attentive & the epitome of service with a smile. Nothing was too much to ask & he was most obliging from playing photographer to keeping the most divine cocktails coming. We had a beautiful set-up on the inside directly in front of a window so we could take in the ocean views. We were offered the opportunity to enjoy a break at a table outside. The High Tea spread was simply superb, what an absolute treat. Everything was so delicious & elegantly presented. A Huge Thank You for the Beautiful Birthday gesture you put together, it's the little things that make a huge difference to an experience & it was sincerely appreciated. I would definitely highly recommended it, I did not want to leave.

Great bar, perfect spot to unwind after a long day. Super friendly staff, who go out of their way to make you time there feel fun. Only negative is you have to book a table, else you likely to be turned away.

We’d been told the Leopard Bar had a great local gin selection (and there are many craft Gina in South Africa). The restaurant was fully booked, but we were offered a table in the bar. What our family group from DC, Chicago and Boston wanted was a G&T tasting, and they created on for us. The bartender Mlungisi is an expert mixologist and teacher. He picked 6 gins, brought out the botanicals and walked us though creation of each. It was one of our highlights from Cape Town.

Superb service. We hadn’t booked the Leopards Bar so there were no tables available on the veranda. However the bar manager set us up a table at the poolside so we could have cocktails and watch the gorgeous sunset. Highly recommend this beautiful hotel and we will return.

Top class for a quick mid week brunch. Excellent service great food. Sea views fantastic although could have done without the road noise but it is what it is.
