Well priced tasting menu, and plenty of food (possibly too much!) Quality of courses was reasonable and service was attentive. 2 of our party of 3 who ate the fish 1st course, had upset stomachs most of the next day

Wow! We came for sunset, and the waiter suggested a lovely dry sparkling rose. He said the Seafood platter would be plenty for the three of us—but I added the oysters to start with— so we got every kind of seafood in Capetown, I think....The lobster and shrimp were seasoned with a bit of pepper— so much more tasty than I’d ever had! There was grilled fish and curried fish, and mussels in a creamy wine sauce we were almost parrying with spoons for, until we realized there was more than we could possibly eat. The cost of that platter was 2988 Rand for three people, but our three hour meal, overlooking the ocean in. Gorgeous setting, was priceless! The other dishes, lamb, pork, and fish looked great, too, so you can dine for less. This was a meal of a lifetime— and let me add I’m so glad I tried the oysters. I never get such sweet and fresh ones in Washington DC!More

Table booked for 6 plus a baby : had to change table as too small for 7 of us: waisted time Terrible service by G, lady waitress , almost rude .. incredible when you spend R5000 + !!!! Got it wrong when taking order and...confused spinach and mash ! Clearly accused us of placing wrong order in stead of changing one side dish ! At the end of the meal asked for tooth picks : brough us 2 with no plates to dispose … Is the budget that tight ? Asked her to take a pick of family table : still waiting … Very agressive and full of herself When leaving and waiting for the lift she just walked through us without a word of apologies and splurged our group with hand signs …. Seriously ? All the way to Camps Bay to be mistreated : never more !!! Shame to take international visitors from Europe to such a disaster My wife spoke to the F&B manager when leaving : let’s see what happens ….More

Have to say this is the best service we have ever experienced. Theo was our waiter for the evening and was incredible. Warm, friendly, knowledgeable, attentive and a fascinating person who gave us an insight in to his life and Xhosa heritage. You’ll have a...great evening at the Azure with great food but your whole trip to South Africa will be made if you get Theo as your waiterMore

We had booked the restaurant for our 1 year anniversary meal and we were made to feel like VIPs are soon as we arrived. We enjoyed a lovely cocktail on the terrace and watched the sunset in what is a spectacular and, from what we...now know of Cape Town, an unrivalled setting. We were serenaded by Byron and treated to a delicious plate of chocolates and fruit to mark the occasion before having a fabulous meal in the Azure Restaurant. A special mention has to go to Sfiso Soldaat who was our waiter, he was extremely attentive and professional and provided an excellent level of service to us during the meal, he was very informed about the wine selection and was kind enough to take time to teach us a bit about what is important when tasting a red wine. He made the whole experience that EXTRA bit special and he should be commended for his passion and commitment.More

This restaurant is in the 12 Apostle's Hotel. We chose it for a big celebration. You can't beat the view or the ambience. We got nervous when we saw how empty the venue was. That's not a good sign ever. The food was really just...not good. You get better salads at Woolworths frankly. No dressing, just chopped up chunks of carrot, cucumber, red onions - a few lettuce leaves - really bad for a 5 star establishment. The steak was good on it's own, but nobody got their sauce on time, and when it was delivered it was inedible really. For the majority vegans / vegetarians the only option was the vegetable curry which came with a soggy pompadom nobody ate. The desert apart from the fresh sorbet ice cream nobody finished or ate mostly. Deconstructed creme brulee meant creme brulee in a bar rather than a ramekin and it just wasn't creme brulee. What was really good was the bread board / starter board that had some tasty bread, cheese straws and dips. Again come for the view but leave and lunch elsewhere.More

This is a very special place: the ambiance is very beautiful kind of upper class colonial with an hint of Hamptons on the side (not today Hamptons though because everything has become minimal and modern). After many years we decided to go back to Azure restaurant. The reason why we hadn't been there in years was because of the bad service. Yes, the setting is beautiful, the food is very good (not excellent, but very good) and the views stunning....We don't know who manages the place, but whoever does NEEDS to change something. No matter what you asked different waiters, they knew nothing about the menu or the wines, forget about making recommendations about food or wine pairings, they knew nothing of the wines they were serving. Instead of attending to the guests, they gathered in groups to have private conversations and more than once did we need to wave our hands in order for them to come to the table. Wine or water were never filled once empty, easy questions about daily specials could not be answered and even simpler questions about whether the Cap Classique per glass was a Chardonnay or Pinot Noir could also not be answered. I recommend that Azure restaurant gets his act together and trains is waiters, makes them learn the menu and wines.More
