Perfect Anniversary

Went to Zibaldone for our anniversary. Everything about the meal was perfect. Had an asparagus starter that was perfect end filled pasta with a delectable lamb filling. My husband had the Osso Bucco. Was just as good. Their waiters is the best and their owners love spending time with their customers and make everything extra special.

Nicer than nice

When I recently read that Zibaldone is better than A Tavola, we had to venture out beyond the borders of the southern suburbs to test it for ourselves. On arriving in the parking area we were a bit confused how to get to the restaurant area, but the security guards were super helpful in directing us. We had an early booking so the restaurant was quiet, but when we left 2 hours later there was a good and happy vibe in the place. Everything we ordered was great - tasty, perfectly prepared and living up to all the excellent reviews patrons are leaving. The menu is typical Italian and guests are spoilt for choice - from pizza, to pasta to meat and vegetarian dishes. The service was quick and friendly and our waitress was engaging and helpful. I specifically asked about the carbonara as I was yet to find a fair (let alone good one) in Cape Town. Her description of it was spot on and It was perfect! We had the focaccia as a starter, 2 raviolis, lamb tortellini, carbonara, tiramisu, pana cotta and 2 dom pedros with a bottle of wine. The final bill was more than reasonable. We will definitely be back for more of the same - or until I find another Carbonara that can top this one!

Great gluten free food

My first experience out eating here. So good to be offered good quality gluten food pasta, I ordered Penne an Forno, it was delicious. The restaurant was very comfortable, well decorated, great views, great staff, made my family feel really welcome. We will be back when we return to South Africa later this year.

Valentine’s dinner 2020. We eat at Zibaldone regularly and tonight was once again awesome. It is an unpretentious eatery that consistently serves excellent Italian food with staple South African choices on the menu as well. Tonight we shared the fig and parma ham starter. It was delicious and the portion was substantial. For mains we had the Veal and Gnocchi aa well as the Pork Belly and mash. The veal and gnocchi was fantastic, rich. The pork belly was fell apart under the knife and though it did not have the usual crackling, the meat was hampion enough to stand on it own. Desert was our usual Pannacotta and Belgian dark chocolate Fondant. And as usual it was fantastic. Service is swift the staff super friendly but not overbearing.

Pleasant dining experience

Obviously was quiet for a week day. Not sure how it is during the weekend or evenings. Noting it's surrounded by apartments right around may be noisy during evenings and weekends. We sat outside so could over look the water. The ambiance was surprisingly pleasant. Had the prawn and asparagus risotto. Tasted delicious....the portion was just enough to make you ask for more although for a prawn risotto the prawns were a tad absent so was the asparagus. For the price one would expect more of these. But overall a most enjoyable experience. Will visit during the weekend and evening and will compare the ambiance.

This has got to be the the best'' casual'' fine dinning Italian restaurant ! The ambiance and decor allows for an engaging meal with friends. The menu caters for all tastes and the meals are freshly prepared. I have tried many different meals, as this is my go to place...

Fantastic experience

I have been there many times for different functions and each time I am delighted with the quality and taste of the food. The service was excellent. My salmon was exactly cooked the way I like it. The Tiramisu was light and very tasteful. Everyone’s food were perfect. Looking forward to next time.

Truly Italian!

Authentic Italian at its best! Truly a class act with very delicious meals from starter to dessert. For starters I had the beef carpaccio and for mains the Tagliata di filetto, both which are highly recommendable. My meals were the envy of the table. A must to experience!

Completely disagree with Dana’s review

I would have to completely disagree with this Dana Lhouli. There are many places in Cape Town that have charged a corkage or cake-age fee. It seems to be norm to practice a few considering the fact that we are not ordering from their dessert menu. We have visited Zibaldone many times and never ever have the owners been “aggressive, disrespectful, non- hospitable…etc etc” if anything they are the complete opposite. I’m sorry you felt it needed a one star review but this is one of my favourite restaurants in Cape Town. I simply love love love their seafood pasta - Tagliatelle al Cartoccio, it’s a definite must have if you ever visit Zibaldone at Tyger falls.

Excellent authentic Italian

It’s been a long time that we dined at Zibaldone but our only disappointment was that it’s been too long. Excellent authentic Italian food… salads, calamari, fish, beef, pasta…, everyone at our table had an outstanding meal. Service was excellent and driven by the owner brothers who have owned it for years. We certainly won’t be waiting su long again.

Excellent Italian

This is an excellent Italian ristorante. Fresh food, well prepared with the best Italian recipes! The owners and the staff are friendly and efficient. The pastas are hand made and always good. My favourites are; the beef fillet and the prawns. All with a good Italian wine menu.

The best Sirlion steak in Cape Town

Although they are an Italian restaurant, with incredible offerings,they make the best Italian Sirlion steak, the best in Cape Town, as per my opinion. Try it and you might come back regularly.

They charge corkage on a birthday cake that you brought !!!

The restaurant has nice food varieties and service but the manager who is the owner, is extremely aggressive , non hospitable , and I would also say rude and not customer service oriented as well as stingy . We were a group of 19 people and brought with us a birthday cake for one of the group…. The owner refused to serve the cake we brought without charging us on each piece that he would serve from our own cake !!!! Noting that our bill between food and drinks was a bit more than 13,000 Rand I travelled the world and have never ever seen this before for a birthday cake to be treated on corkage basis like a bottle of alcohol!!!!!! even our South African guests were as surprised and shocked as we were !!! Very very disappointing ! Not recommended at all !!!
