With a view of the canal, sun setting and good food this is where you want to eat. Fantastic staff add to the ambience.

According to our experience this restaurant is somewhere between 3 and 4 points. 4 points for the meat quality and wine selection, 3 points for the ambience and the service. Particularly bad, however, was the Sauce Béarnaise which had the strangest texture and tasted as...if made from some convenience product - not edible for me. The location is great overlooking the small Tygervalley lake which is probably why it is slightly more expensive.More

I was lucky enough that we went to Cattle Byron while on a business trip to Cape Town. Where do I start on this 1, normally there is always some sort of negative however here it was faultless from being greeted by the owner Louis-Delien...Pienaar to the amazing food and service. Highly recommend that if you are in Cape Town that you visit this hidden gem.More

I've been there for. BUSINESS DINNER. EXCELLENT WINE SELECTION, I had venison carpaccio as starter and a "on the bone" fillet as main. concluded with a creme brûlée ( acceptable) the fillet and the carpaccio were outstanding

Went for for dinner to celebrate my husband's birthday. The meat was just terrible and substandard. The ribeye and the rump steak was ons big piece of sinew. It was so bad that my husband actually choked on it and couldn't finish his meal. We...advised management but the didn't seem to bothered by it. Will definitely not return.More

I have been going to this resturant for maybe more than 20 years. It is a legend in this part of Cape Town. But sadly it changed ownaship in the past few years and the slide from great to average and sometimes below average has been evident....One can see the evidence in portion sizes and the small things which dont even cost large sums of money but add or effect the overhaul experience these are constantly being changed for the worst or downsized but the changes are never for the positive but always of a cost saving nature . I hope there can be a change of mindset to bring this legend back to greatnessMore

Terrible manager. This cattle baron was once the best.It really was for years .To bad things cant last. Originally u get the menus wen u seat not here after roughly 20minutes from being seated eventually we got menus. The kitchen was once consistant but this...now a gamble. Everything that made this cattle baron good seems to be fading away .to be just as. Any other cattle baron just a simple step up above a spur. Its really sad because the owner is very nice and hope that some where along the line she can get the restuarant back to what it was .More

What was meant to be a special event, ended in a disaster spoilt by this incompetent restaurant and even more incompetent staff and management team! My best friends are here from the UK, after not seeing them for years! I phone the restaurant to make...a booking: 1. Staff member that answers the phone can barely speak English. 2. I request a special table and make mention of guests being here from the UK. 3. I request that a message “welcome to SA” is done on their desert plates when they order desert. 4. We arrive at the restaurant. We are taken to our table In a seperate room area where there are only 5 tables. At 3 of the tables there are staff parties of about 14 guests each! All drunk and loud! I am unable to hear my guests speak! 5. We rush our meal amd order desert. Desert arrives - NO message! After 5 min another desert arrives with the message! Why would we want 2 deserts? This place is shocking and let down by poor management! I will NEVER rerurn!!More

I had my birthday celebration on the 23rd! The booking was for 2pm. Minutes after our arrival the waiter told us the kitchen CLOSES at 3pm. We ordered a starter. When the waiter cleared up the starter dishes he put down our main course which...the order was taken down while we ate!!! At 4 he brought the bill. There WAS NO TIME TO ENJOY OURSELVES OR AMBIENCE THOUGH WE KNEW BEFORE THE SIT DOWN THE PLACE CLOSES AT 5. A pity!!!! No recommendation......More

Cattle Baron Tyger Waterfront impressed me in every aspect of service. The booking, greeting & seating, introduction, handing of the menu, taking the order and delivery of the food was expertly done.! The offering of the wine, opening and pouring was flawlessly done as well......Setting the mood for a good meal to be enjoyed, which it was.! Well done Rose, our waiter.. 👏 Our meat dishes were perfectly prepared and cutlery was placed to the requirement of the order. The comprehensive wine list complimented the well managed establishment. I give 5* and recommend booking in advance as this is a very popular restaurant, with reason. 🍷 Thank You Louis-Delien Pienaar for making this a most memorable dining experience 🥂More

We love coming here because we get great food, great wine and excellent service. With lock-in some restaurants have taken some wine off their menus but they have kept their menu's the same. We were served by Collins tonight who was friendly and welcoming with...a sense of humor to match ours, great service!!!More

Dress code is smart casual. It was very cold when we were there, but they do have a huge fireplace, so we dressed in layers and peeled them off as we warmed up.
