We stayed at the Black Rhino Reserve and had planned to self drive within Pilanesberg during checkout. We debated carrying a packed meal for lunch, but were told by our lodge and confirmed on the Pilanesberg Park website that the restaurant would be open and...serving lunch and did not need reservations. Imagine our surprise when we turned up and found that it was closed. We were walking around trying to find an entry point, when we encountered one of the managers of the Zebra Crossing who said that their permission had been suddenly revoked, licence withdrawn and they had been forced to close. They were in the process of vacating the premises. She kindly let us in through a service entry, so we could use the washrooms and we had fortunately carried some snacks and chilled water for our trip. But it was still disappointing to not be able to have a hot meal and is quite a shock for anyone unprepared especially if you have kids or older folks counting on a fresh meal.More

Great place for the view and coffee and nothing else. Visted twice in a week. 1st visit they had no ice. 2nd visit ordered waffle with ice cream to be told they only had cream, waited a while to be told that there was no...cream but had ice cream which had melted. We cancelled our order. Near the entrance to the tables there was a full dustbin, smelt and which had flies and wasps around it. Coffee and price was very good. There is no other option in the park to choose.More

We enjoyed lunch here on one of the day trips. The menu includes breakfast, burgers, grills and more There's a view of a small waterhole here with animals frequenting this spot I had the boerewors roll, well prepared and tasty Depending on how busy it...is, assistance can be slow, so make sure you have sufficient time to enjoy the experienceMore

Very poor, surly service. No welcome to guests. Food indifferent. Sorely needs management oversight. A bit of enthusiasm and welcome from the staff would make a huge difference. Not recommended.

There's a decent crowd here. This is where all the guided tours seem to stop to take their groups. But our group found a table quickly enough. The food came out in a timely manner too. I forgot what I got but it was pretty...good. They even have ginger beer. Hint: Cover your drink with a napkin or something to keep the bees from crawling in or you might get a stinging protein surprise! Not sure about the price as it was included in our day tour. There's a store in the area to pick up snacks and more drinks. There are tables where vendors are selling their tourist items as well as another shop inside that has park related merchandise. You can buy a WiFi voucher here if you need access to the interwebbies too.More

We only ate there once after a morning safari. The food was good. The service was good. The view is very good. They do have a bee problem though.

This restaurant is the only option available in the park, at Pilanesberg centre. You can buy coffee and a variety of meals from the Zebra crossing Food is mainly coffee shop options, so finding a healthy option is limited to salads. Service can be very...relaxed, so make sure you have enough time or pack lunch as an alternative if you want to manage your timeMore

The deck is a great place to often see wild game. The place is looking a little shoddy and needs some attention. Good wholesome food but the change in coffee brand left many guests very disappointed. Tables need painting and just general upkeep was lacking....Staff could be trained and more attentive too.More

We were of group nine adults and three children and arrived to have lunch. Our waitress was attentive and patient. Orders included pizzas, burgers, toasted sandwiches and steaks. Our drinks orders felt like they took too long but were all cold when they did arrive....on the whole the fare was good from this little restaurant that operates off-grid. It can get very busy when tour groups arrive but watching the game at the water hole is an attraction.More

During a day at the Pilanesberg Park we stopped off at the Zebra Crossing for lunch. Plenty of seating, and we were able to watch the various animals come to the lick stone. There is a range of options including sandwiches, pizza, burgers. The food...arrived quite quickly and tasted pretty good. All the food seemed very reasonably priced. You don't pay at your table, but splitting the bill and paying at the desk was no problem. Only negative was the number of bees that wanted to join us for lunch!More

Yes but very reasonable considering it's a Park that needs to be maintained, and you will see game anyway. Access to Bakubung is free but the breakfast is expensive.
