Went here for a dinner while in White River. Great starters and loved the variety of food. Specifically not that the menu was huge rather more varied than many restaurants. Wild pig and rabbit tortellini were great. The warm starter flat bread was very good...too. Definitely a place for a more adventurous eater and set in a cool warehouse style building.More

This is honestly the best restaurant in the lowveld, the owners Carl and Megan are so pleasant and professional and the atmosphere is so 1950s with incredible music playing and the food let me just tell you the food is undeniably worth giving a 5star...or more review. All of our family were so satisfied with the food. We have to come back.More

Hard to describe how pleasing it is to dine at a personally run restaurant, Carl and Megan, two chefs, run a wonderful dining experience. We started with the bore ravioli and the mussels, both excellent, could eat either one again. We then had the prawns...for mains...what to say 8 fleshy, really bigger than average prawns, piping hot and deliciously soft and juicy, haven't seen prawns like that in 20 years...you would have to order Tiger prawns on today's menu's to get the same. For desert, we had a deconstructed chocolate parfait and the granadila pana-cotta, both good, but the pana-cotta was so creamy, not sweet, not jelly like, just excellent. Hope they can keep it up, it's a very high standard, probably because Megan was in the kitchen most of the time, that personal touch makes all the difference. The restaurant was full and all the patrons looked very satisfied and the ones that left before us were decidedly happy.More

If I could give this place a 10 star rating I definitely would. The best restaurant in White River. You have to go to without a doubt. I called the place and everything was reserved, however I told them that it was my birthday and...they very kindly made room for us. We arrived and were welcomed by Carl, he was very attentive to us. He even talked to the rest of the tables and they organized to sing my birthday with everything and the piano that is inside the restaurant. They were a family to us that night. In short, incredible place, attention, atmosphere, exquisite food and the best of all ... the warmth of the people of South Africa !!More

The ambience when we arrived re-inforced our anticipation of a great meal to follow. We were not disappointed. Seared tuna started, duck breast, lamb shank were some of the items our party enjoyed. A special of goat curry was superb! We don't get to White...River as often as we would like - when we do, we'd be at 64 Coolmore every time!More

64 Coolmore is by far one of my favourite restaurants in South Africa. The hosts, Megan and Carl van der Merwe are so welcoming, the atmosphere is always like a great family reunion. The food is so good too! I have tried almost every dish...on the menu and have loved them all. Fine dining and full of flavour. Definitely add this restaurant onto your list of “must do” places.More

Subtle excellence. Carl and Megan as hosts are friendly and warm without being intrusive. Waiters are equally unobtrusively efficient and seamlessly keep glasses filled and food flowing. The food is anazing, fine dining but with a homely presentation. The restaurant is comfortable and secure. Best...in White River!More
