Hands on management makes all the difference

We were in St Lucia for 2 nights and went to this restaurant both nights, mainly because the manager and staff were so welcoming and friendly. We sat in the outside dining area , which is nice and cool , but sadly just looks on to the parking area. The food was good solid comfort food , good portions and good value , and we were able to take our own wine for a reasonable corkage. By the time we left we felt like part of the family!

Delicious Food in a lovely setting!

Another delicious meal @ Reef & Dune Restuarant with my Family! A fun evening with my Family in a lovely setting with beautiful decor, twinkling Candle lights and good service from our waitron Peter. Life can be so simple but oh so good! We thoroughly enjoyed the Mussels in a light Cream Lemony sauce which was presented with fresh ciabatta bread.. Excellent and a generous portion too... The Prawn tails served in a snail dish topped with creamy Feta pieces & Parmesan baked in the pizza oven were superb! I had the Pork ribs served simply with crispy French chips and they were just perfect.. tender & succulent. My son enjoyed the Greek pizza topped with a liberal sprinkling of fresh green chilies.. He likes it hot! The Chicken Breast lightly grilled and served with creamy spinach & baked butternut was simple perfection ..Just as Mom used to make it. So for great food and a very pleasant setting on the main road in this little village of St Lucia do yourself a favour and take your Family to enjoy the Time honoured tradition of sharing a meal!

Mediocre Food, Long Wait

It was very busy when we arrived and perhaps they weren’t properly staffed for the rush. My drink, a cocktail special, took forever to come and was disappointing (gin and tonic and a far too sweet syrup). We ordered a starter portion of mussels and a burger and waited over an hour for our food. The burger was tasteless - especially the patties. Mussels were fine. Waitress was friendly.

Served me a Raw Lamb Burger after a One Hour Wait

Had the worst waiter who ‘forgets’ to put in my order, and as a result I had to wait about 45 minutes after my kids meals were served only to start eating and find that my burger was raw in the middle. Worst service I’ve ever experienced in a long long time. We came 2 nights prior and the day before and received exceptional service. A lot depends on your waiter. Thankfully I never have to come back.

Overrated, rude owner

This place looks the part but the food was terrible, I was served with a rock hard steak and overcooked rice. There was no option for a sauce, there wasn't even a garnish. I know chefs who take pride in their work, not here, I was basically served carpet for a steak. The owner's response was that I should learn to construct a sentence, and that I should stop drinking - hopefully this one is constructed to her full understanding. And for the record, I am a teetotaller. Well, you can insult me all you want your food was terrible.

BEST FOOD AND SERVICE IN ST LUCIA

We stayed in a B&B in St Lucia over Easter and enjoyed most of our meals at Reef and Dune. Their seafood platters, mussels starter and snails with blue cheese were all mouth-watering delicious. Despite being extremely busy, we received our orders fast and with a smile. Thanks Val for checking in on us each and every time we were there and for making us feel welcome and special. Hope to see you again in June xxx Rochelle and the fishermen in my life

Early dinner after a long drive.

After a long drive we visited the restaurant in the early evening. The welcome was nice and we found a table with comfortable chairs. The staff were a little slow to take our orders of lasagne but when it arrived it was very hot, taking a while to cool down. By the time we had finished a generous portion it was still warm. The lasagne was very tasty and the service became a lot more attentive and we left satisfied. I expect that we will go back tomorrow for something more exciting.

Great restaurant with outstanding child cqre

Excellent restaurant with outstanding pizzas and fish dishes. We also tucked into delicious milkshakes and starters. Best of all was the child minder, Nosipho, who kept our granddaughter busy while we enjoyed our meal. What a great evening

We had a wondorful lunch on our arrival into town . The hostess was very friendly and accommodating. The fish was prepared to perfection and we were made to feel most welcome. The staff even sang happy birthday to my mom in law. Lovely !!!

Just brilliant overall experience. Food 10/10 Service 10/10 Going the extra mile for a dinner party 10/10 Kids playground 10/10 1 tv to catch the sports as well helps. Great seatings inside and outside that cater's for everyone or the occasion. Had a hippo sighting outside the restaurant as well. Well worth a visit. Sumitha/Meenal

Wonderful food and friendly people!

Wandered around St. Lucia for a bit looking for lunch. Most of the places were closed or only offered take-away, but Reef and Dune was open for dine-in. We were greeted by friendly people. Everything we ordered was delicious. We got two wood fired pizzas, the Mexican and Four Seasons, both of which were amazing (we’ve had a lot of pizza, so this wasn’t a low bar). We also got the garlic snails and hake and chips. The fish was not fishy at all, deliciously flaky and flavorful. We also got the African burger, which while tasty was huge. TL;DR- If you’re in town, definitely visit this gem of a restaurant!

OK but nothing special

We ate at Reef and Dune on our last evening in St Lucia. As it was the highest rated on TA I think we were expecting something better than it was. Our waiter was Good Hope who was new and tried very hard to please. We had no problems at all with him. He had to keep checking with other staff to find out the answers to our questions but he persisted and did this. We ordered a starter of prawn tails to share and this was delicious. Unfortunately the mains let us down. I had the fish of the day which was dorada. It was a very good size but overcooked and tough. I couldn't finish it. My husband had a steak and said it was OK. The wedges were the best part of the main course. Wines were also disappointing though we chose more expensive ones. The total cost of this meal was the most expensive we had on our trip to South Africa so we were disappointed overall.

Great experience

We stopped in St Lucia overnight on our way back to East London from Tofo in Mozambique. We choose this restaurant for dinner based on reviews in trip advisor . From the service to the menu choices and the atmosphere everything was perfect. When the food arrived it just got even better. Food was very flavoursome and cooked perfectly. Will definitely be back. We had a wonderful final evening of our family holiday

Excellent Food served by Friendly Staff

We had a meal here on the recommendation of the guest house host we were staying at, we weren’t disappointed the meal we had was superb served by friendly staff, it was very reasonably priced. We had a fabulous evening, during the evening Zulu dancers performed outside the restaurant which was a real bonus anyone visiting St Lucia Wetlands won’t be a disappointed with a meal here, there’s even a carpark too. Excellent

Told us we must be there latest 5.30, so orders are in the kitchen latest 6pm (covid got to close at 8pm). We did exactly that, even though its early for supper. 6.30pm still letting customers in, 7pm still letting customers in!! Why tell us no later than 5.30! Pizza just tasted of garlic and nothing else!
