the service and food at Hamiltons was not what it use to be, service was slow and quality of food poor. I ordered the prawns which were dry and overcooked, the chips were oily. My son ordered pizza and they say they had run out, we then ordered chicken strips and 3 tiny pieces arrived.
Our waiter really tried and was apologetic.

Our family and some friends were staying at Berg en Dal in the Kruger park but had such a shocking attempt at a meal at the restaurant there.
On recommendation from other people in the camp, we drove out of the Kruger park, via a short, though leisurely, game drive to Hamiltons Restaurant, 500m outside the park in the direction of Malelane town.
What a revelation!
We enjoyed a good number of superb, Fresh, Tasty, reasonable meals there and simply drove back into Kruger to continue our Safari a short while later.
We even had a superbly catered 60thBirthday celebration there. What a pleasure!

We ate here twice - both times the food was very good. I had steak for my first meal, it was cooked perfectly and was tender and full of flavour. Second visit I had a Pizza - it was perfect, service was a little on the slow side, however the food (which is what matters), was Fab!

We enjoyed the wide variety of food available on the menu. It is a good option to eat when staying at the lodge or nearby which is not srlf-catering. Nice rustic atmosphere, sitting outside in the terrace. Good food, good price

We have been coming to the Malelane area, at least once a year, for over 10 years. The highlight of our trip has always been dinners at Hamiltons. The quality of the food used to be exceptional. This year, we so happened to come 3 times. However, the food has been a dismal failure. We thought it was a once off, a few months ago, but it has become progressively worse to the point that it is now inedible. I’m not sure that it’s even an actual chef cooking the meals. Hamiltons restaurant has gone from being a proud, fine dining experience to a disgrace!

After eating in a restaurant once or twice a day for almost 4 weeks in South Africa, this was by far the worst experience.
After waiting more than an hour for the dishes we ordered, the manager came to apologize for the long wait, but our food would be there within 5 minutes. A big table had just ordered for us which made it last longer. So he knew before we ordered that it would take a long time, but did not find it necessary to inform us in advance.
Those 5 minutes became half an hour and when we wanted to pay for our drinks and leave the manager himself appeared to have left. We were asked to wait a while and minutes later appeared than our food.

We spent a lovely afternoon on the terrace, where we were able to admire the after-work hustle and bustle of the Kruger Park's numerous staff. Mussels in white wine sauce were very good, and the Porc Belly was also very crispy and tasty. The pizza had plenty of toppings and was also tasty. The staff were friendly. We liked it.

Booked a table for 7 people for lunch, drove 40 mins to get there from Nwengya, only to be told that they had cancelled our booking as they had a party of 75 in, NO phone call to say they had cancelled and definitely no apology when we all got there, Despicable attitude from front of house . This was not our first visit there have been going over 17 years. But will not be back again

We went to dinner 3 adults, ordered meat and ravioli, some starters and 1 dessert and beers and soft drinks.
Very good quality food, very cozy and nice restaurant. Very good service. About 18-20€ per person.

The creme brûlée was AMAZING. The bunny chow was super yummy but small, and the other food was pretty good. There’s a playground in the shade and outside + inside seating. We saw a lot of monkeys but they kept their distance. The staff was VERY GOOD and a gorgeous wine room.

Menu selection is excellent, the staff are friendly and efficient, looking after us very nicely.
The food was of the high standard that we associate with a Hamilton’s.

I can't praise this restaurant highly enough and can't understand why this was our first visit - but it certainly won't be the last! Everything was perfect - from making the booking, fabulous food and excellent service from friendly and efficient staff. Did I mention the Christmas menu was amazing and so delicious. We will be back for sure.

Was recommended the restaurant by my son who was playing golf at Leopard Creek. We missed breakfast so chose to have an early light lunch. We both had a pizza , mine was a plain one and my husband had a veg pizza. Really nice. Sat outside and just enjoyed nice fresh air. Nice menu, very varied and good wine selection. Some very expensive. But guess having Anton Rupert wines ! My son ate at night a few times and really enjoyed his meal. What more does a person want

I just got back from the restaurant (October 10, 2020).. The food was delicious.. Our order came out quick despite one of it being a lamb shank. It was delicious.. it fell off the bone. The prawns were the winner for me.. delicious and great value and quality for the price. What really made my mom's day (since I had taken her out for her birthday lunch) was Welcome and Sakhile.. Those 2 are an asset to the restaurant. Excellent service and they wear a smile like it's their second skin. Well done Hamilton's Restaurant and Thank you for helping us create beautiful memories.

We arrived at 10:15 am to have breakfast or lunch. Was told the restaurant was closed for breakfast. Was open only until 10:00 for breakfast. And then again open at 12:00 for lunch. Please don’t mislead patrons by stating on your website that you’re open now from 9:00 am - 11:00 pm. So you’re open only for 1 hour for breakfast. That doesn’t even make sense. And that is certainly not what your website states.
