Landmark restaurant

This landmark restaurant has been around for many years, and we have repeatedly visited it for lunch. The interior decor takes you back to Italy, and the outside seating is lovely to sit underneath the shade of a huge wildfig tree. We ordered half chicken and chips, which sadly took 90 minutes to be served, and only after we went looking for our waiter...very sad. The dinks order was quick and snappy. A visit to the gents toilet can only be described as disgusting with pee on the floor. What a shame that issues like this must rob a lovely restaurant like this of a five star rating. My advice to the management is, train your waiters better and clean your toilets.

Topolino’s is FANTASTIC!!

Our waiter treated us like kings and queens! The manager checked up on us a couple of times always with a smile and made sure we got whatever could make our visit more pleasurable. Because it was my dad’s birthday, he got a free dessert of his choice. The pizza there is perfection and our food was brought quite quickly. The outside tree lights are stunning, the entire restaurant setup inside and outside is beautiful. I am definitely going back to Topilino’s next time we’re in Hazyview!!!

We had only one vegetarian pizza option...they did not have spinach! The veggie option we chose was fine and the service was good...could have been excellent if we had been able to choose the other item on the menu and had the waiter remembered our request for chilli sauce! The manager came to ask if all was ok!, But he was surprised we were told that they did not have the spinach option...he said next time we should ask for him and he will ensure we get what we request.

Disappointed

We were looking forward to returning after visiting last January and what a disappointment! The service was dire we waited over an hour for our starter (the restaurant was not busy) one waiter just hid talking to one customer and did not want to serve any one else. When the starter arrived the prawns were over cooked. After another 45 minute wait for our mains our lasagna was burnt and inedible!! There was no manager around to complain too!! When asked the work shy waiter for the bill as our waiter was serving everyone else he just grunted at us. We again had to wait to for this to arrive. This was not what I would expect but then hey we are only tourist and more will in the next night. But we will not return on

Bunch of children running this place.

Yesterday we phoned this establishment to book a table for later that evening. We were told by the staff member that a booking is not necessary as they are not very busy. When we pitched up later that night we were told by the same staff member that they are extremely busy and it would take almost 1 and a half hours to 2 hours for pizzas to be served.

Topolino's Restaurant

Hi there Ian. I send you a message a while ago. I do understand your frustration. My instruction to my staff was not to take any reservations. We went with “first come first serve”, just to try and deal with the volumes of guests. Maybe you understood him wrong. The long weekend in September when you decided to join us for dinner, every bed in our town was booked. Guests queued to come in. It was a very needed but chaotic weekend. All I know is that my staff did their utmost best. Trust me – no one could have prepared us for such a busy weekend. Negative reviews were expected. We always joke between us when guests start their complaint with “but we are from Jo’burg”. Things in our small town is just not the same.

Service was nice but that it. You would image that pizza and pasta are extremely easy to make if you just have the right ingredients. But not in this place. Pizza bottom did not have any taste, seemed to be from freezes. Cheese was really low quality and same goes for meat. Go for Kukas or Pioneer grill, not here

Sunday Seafood Special !

If I could give 10 stars I would - it is a very long time since we had such an awesome meal. We ordered the platter for two and it was superb in every single way possible! The mussel pot, the prawns, the calamari, the hake, the sauces from presentation to flavour and worth every single bite....just WOW !! Thank you Denee xxx

All About The Small Things

The positive... Friendly staff, ice cold local beer and 3 of our 4 ordered pizzas was good. The negative... The cream cheese on one of our pizzas had gone bad which rather spoiled our visit.

They close the kitchen at 7.30pm 🤡🤡

Kitchen shuts at 19.30pm so we didn’t even get past the front door. Seriously people, you want international tourists to come to South Africa and restaurants shut at 7.30 in the evening….. what a joke ….. you deserve to go bust 🤡🤡

This is a so called "italian" restaurant! Perhaps it is "italian styled" restaurant! For italians a "no go" restaurant! The worst thing - and this 2 times tested - the Espresso ! Pizza italian stile, the thin pizza not really cooked ! The Pizza stiles : f e. "palermitana" with brie and cranberries, I think that Nobody in Sicily hast ever eaten brie and cranberries in a pizza ! Service : very slow

I really loved this place.

I really loved this place. The waiters were very attentive & courteous, service was great. The food excellent. I had the best pasta dish of my life here, the Ragu. The lasagna was also very nice (I know, I ate from my bf’s plate). I loved the chilled vibe as well, by the road plenty of greenery. Love it!!! 10 stars.

Sunday pizzas 🍕

Friendly staff welcomed us and tokens to a table. Drinks order was taken and delivered whilst we reviewed the menu. We ordered starter and pizza, all was delivered properly and piping hot. We enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant on a cold afternoon, and would recommend it.

After action packed ziplining, TOPOLINO'S

After an exhilarating ziplining experience, we decided to stop off at Topolino's for a lunch. The service was fantastic and the food was really good. We went back the following day and took some friends with and they thoroughly enjoyed the food and good service.

This is a lovely place to be either for lunch or dinner. We have been a few times for dinner and never disappointed. The venison carpaccio is beautiful, also other dishes. The service is great, we certainly go back in the coming weeks.

Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Justice was our waiter and he was friendly, efficient and very knowledgeable about the menu. We hope that you appreciate Justice, as he is an asset to your business. Best service we received in three weeks of dining out!
