Nice relaxed setting BUT food and service were a big turnoff. The menu said to expect a wait so the long wait was fine. But 4 of our 6 meals had problems. The 2 aubergine wraps contained large pieces of inedible uncooked aubergine. The chicken...salad had no butternut or guacamole even though both were listed as ingredients on menu. Finally, the burger didn't arrive with the rest of the meals. The waiter said that he'd "returned it to the kitchen as it was substandard" but this felt like a puzzling and unconvincing explanation for a very basic burger and we wondered if he'd forgotten to put the burger order through. At no point did he or the manager ask if everything was OK with our meal. Eventually another staff member brought the now ravenous diner a small glass of beer by way of apology but he literally got his food only after everyone else had finished eating. The final turnoff was that I noticed our waiter APPARENTLY CAREFULLY SCRUTINISING EVERY KEYSTROKE AS I ENTERED THE CREDIT CARD PIN. I noticed just in time to lift up the card machine so that he couldn't see the last digit. All in all it was a thoroughly unenjoyable experience. We left feeling disappointed and mistrustful.More

The Eats: Standard bacon and eggs breakfast The Pros: The location is great. Timberlake village feels magical and includes lovely shops and even an Acrobranch! Well priced. Good service The Cons: None! Suggestions: The toast seemed like it came from a supermarket. Can do with...a larger slice of toast or two slices of homemade bread.More

The menu is quite comprehensive. We ordered our meals with gluten free bread or wraps. We were served some sort of loaf of seeds, whole and unground. Not great. Maybe the regular breads are ok.

Visited Zucchini’s this afternoon for lunch. We all ordered burgers. The sweet potato fries were amazing. The patties are pre cooked so you cannot choose the preparation of the meat which i felt was silly. It is over R120 per burger. Surely meat can be...prepared fresh and according to taste. The waitress also did not listen to our requests at all. I asked for extra mushroom sauce. She said it comes with the burger although i knew no where on the menu mushroom sauce was mentioned. Obviously the burger came without mushroom sauce. They also advertised a special, free savanna with each burger but then upon asking tor the drinks they said the special is over as they are out of stock. I feel they should have offered us something similar and then take down the add. I did tell them to remove it from the board. All in all an OK experience. Ive been there before and it was AMAZING. I hope this OK experience was not the new norm.More

We were on route to our final destination in Wilderness and wanted to browse through the little shops. We decided to have a quick light lunch as we had a big breakfast. We sat outside on the deck from where we had a vantage point...to look out towards the little shops. We settled for a starter of jalapeño poppers, the best ever, and shared the calf's liver on sweet potato mash and vegetables. This is a huge portion of food but delicious. We washed it down with a beautiful Rosé. The staff was friendly and polite. Be warned, the monkeys are living in the trees around the restaurant and are ready to snatch anything they can lay their little hands on. They are daring, though not aggressive bit the do become a nuisance. The manager grabs his slingshot ever so oven to chase them away.More

Venue and service was great. Live music was really cool Food was very disappointing and we sent the kids meals back. Manager handled it really well and removed the meals from our bill.

Whole Timberlake area is very nice with its shops. Zucchini was good restaurant, some nice beers and wines. But their Karatara burger was really good, way above average burgers. Really recommend it. When we came in, Zucchini was rather crowded and busy. During our late...lunch it turned more quiet. So waiter Sean had more time. We had really interesting conversation. One of those times when you really learn something new and hear about that kind of daily life we hardly meet. And then, Sean is also really good waiter.More

We were on our way to our air bnb and stopped here by chance. It was a great find. We shared a monkey platter which was delicious and then noticed the troupe of monkeys in the vines above us. Lovely experience!! Food and service both...excellent.More

Zucchini is a rustic restaurant in the Timberlake village between Wilderness and Sedgefield. We sat on the deck but there are tables under the trees or indoors depending on the weather. The menu is compact and mostly organic .. great venison options and some interesting...dishes . Excellent food and good service and a relaxed ambiance and tranquil surroundings. Off the beaten track and not crowded for dinner but busy during the day . The burger selection is great and you won't leave hungry!More
