The name offers the innuendo of great coffee. In fact, it is quite the opposite. I’d go back to give the food a try but my Java fix would need to come from somewhere else.

The appropriateness of the name of this Cafe is apparent when one enters a large spacious sparsely- furnished warehouse-type building which is poorly lit with the only warmth coming from the large authentic pizza oven. The staff however are friendly and accommodating, and the service...was prompt and efficient. The menu consists of the basics - burgers, pizzas, pastas, salads and a few grills. They also have a good variety of sushi. We opted for the grill of the day, which was a ribeye with an egg and chips (which I was able to swap out for a generous Greek salad); and the half peri-peri flame-grilled chicken. We were pleasantly surprised with the value-for-money portion sizes. My steak was perfectly cooked and with a side portion of freshly chopped chillies, my belly was beginning to warm and I became oblivious to the chilly ambience. The generous portion of peri-peri chicken was not spicy enough, but was rectified with a dose of freshly chopped chilli. A worthwhile stop for good pub grub where one is fairly limited wrt places to eat in Underberg.More

An interesting combination but it works. The meat was really good and tender.... Perfectly cooked. the sushi was good as well and made everyone at the table happy.

A bit of an eclectic decor ... not sure what theme they’re going for here but this is one of the very few (if not ONLY) restaurant we could find in Underberg that was open after 4pm. Boy, am I glad we stopped in here....Kiddies chicken strips was MASSIVE .. beef lasagne really great and the MOTHER of all Burgers ... well make sure you come hungry. Don’t bother ordering chips with the burger, even if you haven’t eaten all day ... the burger is really filling and soooo tasty. Really, really good and worth the wait. Good value for money all round!More

Well the service was very slow. 1 hour for a pizza and 2 pasta. And the food wasn’t even good. The pizza are made on ready made base which are dry and god knows how old. Pasta had a weird smell. Couldn’t finish it.

Was really impressed that we could now get sushi in Underberg, service is great and Crossley seems to be really getting things right.

I realise that times are tough with the Covid-19 virus issue and places are trying their best under the circumstances. However, this should not excuse poor food being served. Went for a lunchtime takeaway and ordered a tramezzini. if you didn't have real tramezzini bread...you could have told me at the time of ordering and I would not have bothered. It looked like two pieces of roti with the filling falling out everywhere. Fairly awful. And the chips looked as if they had been refried a few times over the last week - 'slap' and brown - went straight to the dog. The pizzas I ordered were also not good, very thin, very (very) little base and very bland. Money is tight for everyone these days and there are not many restaurants in Underberg to choose from. Value for money is required and I won't be going to this restaurant again.More

The first appearance that this is a hard open "Cafe" belies the good food and service here. Load shedding did not disrupt things and our meal was most enjoyable. I personally would not put peanuts in the ice cream but then they probably servr the...best cappaccinos on townMore

The recent breakfast we had there was delicious. We've had pizza here a few times and usually the meaty pizza and my vegetarian are out of this world but for some unknown reason the last pizzas we had just wern't as magnificent. Maybe its because...it was holiday season and the chefs were rushed? Not sure. Will visit again soon and give them another try. Usually my favourite restaurant with lovely staff and clean toilets.More

Feels a bit like a diner. Salads were both very tasty, also was the pizza. The grind fillet was too much cooked and in a weird combination. Unfortunately, the pizza came much later than the meat.

I am sure the food will offer a different experience. The review was more around the ambiance of the place, which was not that good. They do seem to try to do too many things, which may work economically, but does not work... More
