Saw reviews on Tripadvisor and decided to give it a go. Great food and attentive staff. Seafood was amazing . Reasonably priced . Visited twice over a short stay in Umhlanga. Will definitely visit again when I’m back in town.

Whenever you re-visit a restaurant, you might worry that the same enjoyment and experience will not be recaptured as with the previous visit. This being our second visit, they had proved to me that they consistently maintained their excellent service and high quality of food....All staff on duty were very friendly, attentive, and ensured that every single patron that visits them is treated to the absolute best they have to offer. We kicked off our lunch with sharing a garlic roll, which was freshly made and served with sambals and a tamarind chutney, a refreshing and tasty accompaniment. For our mains we had their Seafood Paella and Mixed Seafood Curry. The Seafood curry was packed to the brim with the freshest seafood marinara and combined beautifully with the spicy tomato based sauce. This was served with rice and a crunchy poppadum. The Paella was equally delicious, also with fresh seafood and very tasty and it certainly delivers on its promise to be colourful and rich. The portion of Paella served was huge and there was more than enough to take home.More

We go back to Lord Prawn each time we visit Umhlanga and it never disappoints! Good food, good old fashioned quality service. Well done to the team at Lord Prawn for keeping this up.

In a forest of chain store restaurants, this local business is outperforming the competition. Excellent, fresh and well prepared food! We had oysters, prawns, calamari and everything was cooked to perfection. Service was friendly and the ambience very welcoming. A must when in uMhlanga!

We ordered the snails to share as a starter. They were really nice. Then we ordered the seafood platter for 1 person for both of us to share. This is one of the best seafood dishes we have ever had. Would really recommend.

After being recommended by a friend, We visited early evening on sunday, two lots of a dozen oysters to start with 4 being undersize,after having just 5 oysters our main course arrived,the waiter asked if He should leave it,I said no it will be cold...and not to put under heating lamp as it will be overcooked. He did just that. I complained and He said it will be O.K. even though the chips were oily being double fried. I asked for an Irish coffee, I will never know if it had whisky in it,very doubtful and the coffee tasted like dishwater,My partner and I both had food poisoning from the Oysters starting that evening and the next two days. the oysters were not live when we eat them. I complained about the coffee and the waiter simply said Oh O.K.Should I have made a bigger fuss? I suppose so.More

When here while on our honeymoon in September . It was a slow night customer wise since it was during the week but the service was great. The waiter was very friendly and helped us choose our drinks and food . We got the huge...platter and were amazed at how good everything was and how it was all properly prepared. I am calamari fan and must order it every place i go. The calamari here was great. Not over cooked and the sauces were great. Everythign else on the platter was just as good. This was my wifes first time really enjoying seafood so thank you for making this a good experience for her. We are coming back in February the weekend after Valentines dayand will definitely be back . She demanded that we come back, so we will see you soon !!!More

Amazing food, warm and generous service, with a cosy old school charm ambience. We have enjoyed date night and family dinner there and it's definitely one of our favorites. One of the few old school gems still in Umhlanga. Definitely recommend.
