Exceptional Dining Experience! We had the pleasure of dining at Swaadisht Umhlanga Oceans Mall tonight, and it was truly an unforgettable experience! From the warm welcome to the impeccable service, every aspect exceeded our expectations. The dishes were expertly crafted, presenting a perfect balance of flavors and spices. The mutton bunny chow, dhal dish and lamb chops were exceptional. Attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly staff ensured our every need was met. Vibrant atmosphere, vibrant decor, and upbeat background music created a comfortable and exciting setting. Highlights: - Generous portion sizes - Reasonable prices - Extensive menu options (vegetarian, gluten-free, etc.) Verdict: Saadisht Umhlanga Oceans Mall has earned its spot as my go-to Indian restaurant in Durban! If you're craving authentic, mouth-watering Indian cuisine, look no further. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Such a divine meal out with the family - Mandy and David are excellent waiters, and the kitchen obliged so nicely with individual heat requirements. Good prices, generous portions - plenty of gravy! We loved our meal, and can’t wait to go back again the next time we are in town!

The staff were friendly and courteous. The menu selection is brilliant, your typical Indian selection of foods, but a cut above the rest. The owner / manager and staff were very approachable in seeing to our needs. Would recommend this Indian restaurant when you are in uMhlanga or near Durban.

I made a reservation 1 week ago at Swaadisht Oceans Mall for a table of 30 people. My initial telephonic conversation with the manager, Sharon Maharaj was unpleasant as she had no telephone etiquette and was extremely unhelpful. I'm view of the taste of the cuisine that my wife is fond of, I went ahead and confirmed the booking. On 11 December 2024, we entered the restaurant at 19:30pm to celebrate my wife's 40th birthday with family. The service from Sharon was pathetic as she treated us with arrogance, disrespect and complete disregard for customer dissatisfaction. To avoid a confrontation we were moved outside, a party of 34 paying customers to be ridiculed by her, bumping into family members, laughing and behaving inappropriately. This experience has been distasteful and she is the worst Manager of an esteemed establishment that I have ever witnessed. Proceeding to review the restaurant online, I am flabbergasted that so many individuals have had similar experiences with her and Yet she is still employed as a front end representation of Swaadisht. Please get rid of this kind of people as their behavior has no place in a public space. Yours faithfully Mr John Pillay Food: 4/5 | Service: 1/5 | Atmosphere: 1/5

Had a solo buffet here. I really enjoy indian foods and dare say I cook a mean curry myself. So if anything indian is not on point I will certainly let the establishment know. My buffet included tandoori chicken wings, aloo(potato) paratha, cheese paratha, Durban mutton curry and a roti. Which like a champ I paired with Coke on ice. Lets start with the so so stuff because there was no bad. The roti for me was more of a wrap. Shared the consistency of one. Prefer mine flaky finished in butter. The cheese paratha whilst having a lovely texture was bit bland. I think maybe a matured cheddar will pack a better punch albeit a flavour that is not authentically indian. The aloo paratha was amazing. Possibly the best, most aromatic I have ever had. The wings were beautifully spiced, a tad chewy but delicious and well seasoned. The mutton curry was a life changing experience. Easily the most flavourful and best seasoned mutton curry I have ever had. I have on occasion gone to fine dining establishments and left feeling shafted given that the food lacks flavour and/or seasoning. This spot is not one of those. Well priced, honest indian food with authentic indian tunes pumping in the background. Wonderful experience. Will certainly return when back in Durban.

Can highly recommend! Great food, friendly staff and authentic ambience. The Chana Masala and Vegetable Curry were absolutely sublime complemented by the Baan Bread, Roti, Carrot Salad and pickle made it a memorable meal. We’ll certainly be back!

We were looking for a good curry place for a bunny chow as it was my husband's first visit to Durban and his birthday, so we decided to give Swaadisht Foods a try. We are from Cape Town originally, so our expectations were quite high, and we ordered the butter chicken bunny chow for him and the Durban bean curry for me. Both were delicious, though of average value for money (the bunny chow was priced a little high for what it is, in our opinions). The music in the restaurant was a little loud for our tastes, but the food and the service was good. We will definitely order from them again when in Umhlanga, although we probably won't dine in again.

My wife and I popped for supper and what an experience. We do love our curries and I have to say this is the best I have had In Durban. I have a 1/4 chicken bunny hot and my wife had the medium butter chicken curry. The staff were friendly and very helpful. We also sat outside on the patio which provided some live entertainment of sports cars passing by.

My husband and i always ensure we visit here when we come to Durban annually to visit family. This week we introduced my sister in law from Cape Town and had as always a very tasty meal with great service. The portions are generous and the food authentic. We were able to have another evening meal from the leftover takeout the following day! Will definitely be back when we next visit Durban.

We had family lunch for 33 people to mark a 90th birthday at Swaadisht Umhlanga and had a wonderful experience. Right from the start Sharan had everything under control. She assist with the menu and decor and the venue was fully prepared before the guests arrived. The service was attentive and the food really tasty. On the menu was a starter platter, prawns, lamb rogan Josh, butter chicken and vegetable Breyani and dhal together with naan and rice. For dessert Soji and keer was served. Every dish was well prepared. The venue adhered to all COVID protocols and tables were well spaced out. Excellent experience.

We loved the atmosphere at this restaurant. The waitress was so hospitable. The food is absolutely delicious. My hubby rarely eats Indian food at restaurants but he was mindblown with the flavourful meals at Swaadisht. This restaurant is definitely our favorite, will always stop by when we're in Durban. Keep up the great work!
