We had a business lunch and some people ordered the seafood platter, Geezzz was this big, there was a variety of food, but the price was just as huge. The atmosphere is awesome and the view spectacular.

Porkys moved to the Country Club from the watefront and thus ditched the fantastic harbour view. We went for a lunch with friends and the food was okay. Staff was helpful and friendly.

We had a spontaneous family get together at Porkys and when we arrived, the restaurant was packed. They were totally understaffed and we waited over an hour until our drinks and starter arrived. The waiter who served us was very friendly despite the hectic and...stress. Three of us ordered the queen prawns and were really disappointed by the quality of food.More

With unwavering loyalty, for the past 10 years or more, PORKYS has been supported to host a seafood extravaganza dinner function for overseas visitors as an annual event in the first week of November. The food and service quality standards to which we have previously...become accustomed (and upon which, as a host to multi nationals in the shipping game, one could previously bank on as safe) and to which our guests have always looked so farward to, have eroded to such low levels as to have become nothing short of extreme embarrassment. Notwithstanding the fact that the owners were advised (reminded moreso, such (was) the regularity of the event) in July and again in October of a pending guest list of around 50 pax, and notwithstanding this guest list was confirmed to 54 pax 3 days before the event and remained unchanged thus, the fare presented on the 6th of November, 2018, was lackluster, extremely poorly presented and barely enough to comfortably feed 20 pax at a push. Seated in a large “U-SHAPED” combined table configuration, the 54 guests waited in vain for the earlier lauded to extravaganza as no more than 4 only “A3” sized platters were brought forth to be shared across the all the guests. On each of the only 4 platters, buried under 20/30 odd queen prawns and some garnish, lay diagonally placed a reef fish of no more than 2.5 kg max, a handful of calamari rings in the one corner and a cup or two of rice in the other. No other starches were presented, (had it even been separately 4 bowls of chips, 4 bowls of savory rice to hoodwink everybody...nothing). Two guests were seafood intolerant (owners were cautioned) and were to be specifically served a separate protein platter of steak strips / chicken pieces / eisbein pieces / cerico sausages. This failed to be presented and the guests ended up ordering a-la-carte steaks after the fact. Such was the appalling result that guests went home complaining that they were still hungry and the final price charged for the food alone would make anyone’s eyes smart! If there was R1000.00 worth of retail stock presented on each of the 4 platters, it would have been a stretch. The bill computed to R300.00/head (food only). The math indicates 13 X 300 = 3900 return per platter! It was a shocker! Nonetheless, offering the minor benefit of doubt to the owner, he was approached about the shocking state of affairs and 40 days later, appears to remain unremorseful. Having been to see him to elicit an explanation as to the conduct from his established, it would have been fair expect some form of an email / offer of apology and might I venture even, a partial restitution. With none forthcoming it would be fair assume that risk should of further emabarrasment in the future will certainly not be contemplated. I wish the owners all that lies before them!More

We went to Porky's for lunch yesterday and unfortunately i must agree with francois577 that Porky's is not the same it used to be. There is no theme in the decorations and whether they are planning to do something later or not, it feels as...if you are walking into a left behind from the 80's something - the decorations and colour scheme do not fit together and then there is this sad Christmas decorations. And if you have to play Christmas music, make sure that the same song does not repeat every 30 minutes. Have enough music for at least 2 hours. Then there is the food. I started with a foccacia with mozarella, herbs and garlic. It was just oil on a plate. The base was under cooked, except at the ends of the pizza where it was a bit crispy. The grill/oven was too high, so the mozarella split into something and a lot of oil. Not pleasant at all. My husband ordered grilled calamari as a starter, and all of about 8 rings were tasty (so he said), but felt that it was somewhat overpriced. We both ordered Sole a la Porky, and once again, the fill was really over cooked/grilled. And really, if you have a "creamy garlic sauce", have cream in the sauce, not cheap imitation butter margarine. The sauce was really not nice at all, and i seriously missed the garlic in that one as well. The grilled (again) prawn on top of the dish was over cooked and one could hardly get the flesh out of the shell. The mussels were okay. The only saving grace for me was the good service. Overall, will not be going back there soon -More

A few years back Porky's was great and well worth visiting. The same can however not be said any more. Our company predominantly used Porky's as the dinner venue of choice when we received overseas visitors. I think based on the poor service we have...received for the past months and especially tonight that we will rather try some other options in future. Although the food is of acceptable quality the service is so bad that the food can not lift the dining experience to a recomendable status. The new venue also really lacks character and is a big step down from the previous location. Porky's is realy in a downward spiral.More

Welcome reception. Clean & neat restaurant. Floor manager & owner made sure we were looked after. Food was absolutely delicious. Waiter was friendly & knowledgeable. Didn't have to wait for drinks, starters or mains. Bar area was lively and the music gives the restaurant a...lively vibe. Overall experience was very good. Well done Donald & TeamMore
