Value for Money, great if you are hungry!

Not a venue I have frequented or even visited for some time but what a pleasant surprise. Not only was the menu varied but the portions were big, pricing very fair and the service excellent. When one considers the standard pub grub, The Keg takes this, enhances it, provides variation and provides exactly what one looks for when one goes out - that is good and speedy service, great food, good portions and great quality. An entirely gratifying experience beyond expectation.

Reasonable pub !

Nice location for a pub / restaurant trees and lots of birds. Found the food to be good , but not consistent I had supper three days in a row , first day was a schnitzel which was really good , next day an Eisbein which was poor , followed by a fillet steak which for a South African restaurant was mediocre. Service though was friendly and efficient. Ladies night was a let down for the lady’s I’m sure , no discounted beverages !

Food absolutely great although we had to wait a bit longer as the waitress got our order wrong. Her friendliness made up for that. Turned out to be great evening

Racist service preference

We were clearly the only white people in the restaurant. We arrived at 1330 and left after 4pm. We had a drink at the bar and then to our table. Put our starters in and after about an hour asked what was happening after a black family arriving after us received their food. The trainee had forgotten to put our order through. We clearly were the wrong colour to get service and will not be going there again. Shocking service all round with dirty toilets included.

a Pub that needs direction

The setting is great, the humble food is great, the waiting staff is the best. I would like to have seen more modern options, regardless the fish and chips was great!

The place is amazingly beautiful, I had a cocktail which tasted so nicely, the staff was very friendly from the moment you come inside, I liked that, I ordered a steak, which was perfectly cooked the way I wanted it to be, and covid protocols were followed, keep up with the good work!!

Good Family location

Lovely evening spent with family at the Keg and Hedgehog. Food was very enjoyable and the staff friendly and helpful. Great place for families to enjoy an evening together although the noise was a bit overpowering at times.

Whilst the food is excellent when it finally arrives 🙄 the service is horrendous. Simple drinks order is drastically delayed😯 To get the attention of the waiter is nearly impossible. You have to leave the table, to get their attention. A real no no no!I might add this was a quiet midweek visit and we were ignored!

The kind of fare I expect froman establishment of this nature.

After working all day on a story, we were invited to this establishment to have dinner. It is not the kind of restaurant that I would usually frequent, so it was an experience. The food offerings were fairly predictable, and there were a lot of friend foods on offer. In order to position this review appropriately, this is a sports type bar and not really a restaurant,so my opinions are based on this type of establishment and not comparing it to a fine dining restaurant. (Which would be patently unfair). Probably as a bar/restaurant it is very good. The food wasnot expensive and there were some offerings which I found interesting. I tried the Liver and onions option, served with mashed potatoes. I can't remember the last time I had this dish and I enjoyed it, and the mash was acceptable. If anything there was a bit too much gravy, but there are those who may like it as such.

Good old hearty pub grub If that’s what you are looking for, then you won’t be disappointed. A menu to cater for all palates. We enjoyed the snails and quesadillas. Fish is always a good meal too and the delicious burgers. Service was friendly and efficient.

Local pub fun

I swear they know us by face here - we go at least once or twice a fortnight. The food is great, the service friendly and reliable, the location is safe and has a great atmosphere. You can't go wrong visiting Keg! We were even surprised once with an entire brand new box of draft glasses (everyone in the pub that night received a box as they'd accidently ordered too many). Was like Christmas! :D

Womens Day celebrations

What an awesome evening. It was ladies night so most main meals were half price. Our cocktails were absolutely delicious. Although the place was full and busy, meals came on time. Atmosphere in there was excellent. Highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to chill with friends.

RELAXING CASUAL FUN PLACE

The waitresses are efficient, friendly and chatty. The food is tasty. There also a variety of cuisines The restaurant is cosy, There is a car guard (Pierre)that is so friendly and monitors everything. Sometimes there is a band and that is loads of fun older crowd

Poor food and very slow service

Visited for lunch today. Place was very quiet yet waited 15min for 2 glasses of wine and a full hour for our meal. The steak was very mediocre with the stew terrible. The stew meat was tough with grissel. This was our first and last visit here. Nobody checks on your meal while waiters and manager stand around chatting.
