when i was in Southafrica, my friend took me there for lunch. this was our best experience we have ever had. so much tasty food with geat hospitality and neat and clean environment. we felt this was our luxerious experience.
This once illegally operated shebeen is excellent as far as traditional food is concerned, as well as the overall atmosphere. This rather unique restaurant walls are covered with cards of previous visitors and that in itself is "history".
Stopped in for lunch while doing the Soweto tour. Great food and very friendly staff. Wandy also made an appearance which was very special. It was very quiet but may have been as a consequence of mid week tour. There are restaurants opposite Nelson Mandela's...house in Vilakazi street but rather pop down the road to Wandys- an iconic eatery that's been an attraction for many years. You won't be sorry.More
We went to Wandies Place for our Christmas Lunch and what a suprice... the restaurant is plane but very neat and tidy... But the FOOD was SOOOO GOOOOD, Every thing I had in my mouth was just divine.... reminded me of real Boere kos and...of course they had the unusual dishes also (well for me for sure) but I believe that if you Like afval you will also enjoy this here.... Staff is great and it is definitely a restaurant you need to visit even if it is just to be different.More
No idea what they would charge nowadays because I have not been to South Africa recently. But it is not expensive, and the food and atmosphere are really good (or at least they were the last time I was there)
