Very dishonest. I ordered pasta napolitana. It arrived and was pasta bolognese. When I called the owner who wasn’t there he said the bolognese was beef. The manager at the restaurant however confirmed it was pork sausage over which they threw napolitana sauce. I am...Jewish and they had almost fed me pork!!! My husband had always said the sauces there are awful.More

We really enjoy our food and service at ‘The Eatalian’. Helpful staff and owner with recommendations. We had a very nice dinner with wine, appetizer, and main dishes. Everything was perfect. Staff helped use get a uber back to our apartment. We also used Uber...eats for a dinner.More

We went to the Eatalian on a Saturday for lunch, and were quickly seated and presented with our menus and wine list - a nice selection and several craft beers. We chose a bottle of red wine and ordered 3 different pizzas. They were delicious...- simultaneously crispy and juicy, just the way we like them. Only one size is served, but it felt like the right size to us. Good service tooMore

The highlight of my first visit were the fresh truffles which were liberally grated over all the dishes including the desert! Our host had pre-selected the menu: Sea Bass Carpaccio, Ravioli, Rib Eye Steak, Truffle Ice Cream and Profiteroles. Excellent. Service impecable. They sell freshly...imported truffles both black and white which are sold by weight. I returned a week later with a friend for lunch. Had a steak with truffle oil. Still excellent but not comparable to using grated fresh truffles.More

Relaxed, friendly Italian restaurant serving very good food. Friendly service, delicious pasta and the best Affogato ever tasted. Excellent coffee, home roasted. A great evening out with good friends in a comfy environment. Just one suggestion-pay attention to the bathrooms, please!

Ordered a pulled lamb, pepper dew and chutney pizza for R153 through UberEats. The lamb must have been pulled through a sieve! It resembled pumpkin fritters! I can’t comment on the pepper dews or the chutney as they were completely absent. The two orders of...prawn and clam pasta in white wine sauce were both missing clams and white wine! The order arrived quickly, but was nonetheless as cold as a week old cadaver. Never again!More

Truly a spectacular experience. Our waiter, Jerry, was so sweet and attentive. The lasagna was truly spectacular. My lady said her gluten free bolognaise is the best in Johannesburg. Kudos for a perfect night out.

First time visit to this venue and if we lived in Johannesburg we would definitely come again. Fabio, owner/manager with his brother, was welcoming, informative and attentive - as was Marco when he managed to get away from the kitchen. Coming from Australia we found...the pricing to be very reasonable and represented good value. We started with a board for 4 of the Antipasto Mitso which was a tasty appetiser. Between the 4 of us we had a couple of seafood pastas, a pollo al porcini & a pollo involtini de spinaci, all of which were delicious, rounded off with creme brulee - which was made to perfection. The wait staff were pleasant & the whole evening was just very 'easy'. Not sure about wheel chair access as we used only one of two entrancesMore

went for a family celebration. I was shocked at what our bill came to it was scandalous. the pizzas were mediocre and that is what most of our party had. the pizza with bolognaise meat was not edible the meat had to be taken off...was hard and crumbly. on a positive note I had a seafood pasta and it was delicious. but if truth be told wont be going there again the same feeling with the rest of our party it is too exhorbitantly priced.More

This was a first visit, and a working lunch; so unfortunately no wine. It would have gone very well with what was an amazing meal. I had the brisket, which is served in a small potjie pot, with mash and vegetables. The meat was incredibly...well cooked, and downright delicious. The mash was a winner. The pasta main was also really good. We finished our meals with cortados which was also really tasty. All round, a great meal. The ambiance was also good, and I appreciated that the chef came out to say hi. Will definitely return.More

We recently tried this restaurant for the first time, although we live in the area and have seen it for a while. We weren't disappointed and the kids loved the pizza. I loved the chicjen breadt with Napolitano sauce and melted mozzarella. The next time...we went, however, this dish was no longer on the new menu, which seemed to be quite a bit more expensive as well. My husband's pasta was undercooked and although the owner tried to convince us it was al dente, we'd just returned from a week in Italy and knew the difference!! This was crunchy! Although the dish was replaced, I didn't appreciate the defensive response which failed to acknowledge that they had got it wrong.More
