Beautiful setting, efficient and friendly service with a varied and interesting menu suitable for anything from business meetings to baby showers. The food was delectable and the ambience tranquil yet inviting. We can’t wait to go back.

My husband and I popped in for something to eat, turned out to be a leisurely visit as the setting is stunning, fabulous coffee / chai latte, yummy burgers and the best banana milkshake he had in years, we went and sat under the trees...in the park next door afterwards, such gorgeous gardens, a real treat ! We will be back again for sure !More

I've been hearing about this location for a while from friends. I specially woke up earlier for a breakfast before work, only to realise that their opening hours says from 7:00 in the morning, but they only start baking their fresh goods at 7.(scones, brioche...and croissants). So in other words I woke up to get a early breakfast, especially at this location, to only realise that their baked goods aren't ready yet. You can imagine my disappointment regarding this. I would think that most of their baked goods would be ready for opening time. I also had a cappuccino and it was okay. Other than that the view was amazing and the garden is very well sort after.More

I generally eat there once a week. I love the Rib Eye Steak with chips & the garlic aöli. It's always cooked & seasoned perfectly! It tastes devine! The white chocolate cheesecake is my favourite dessert. It melts in the mouth. Afroboer ROCKS!!!

Wow, the words that I am looking for to describe Afro-Boer does not come close to how amazing they actually are. The service is quick and friendly, easy to understand menu's. The kids love playing there. I love how you can sit outside and enjoy...the sunshine while dining. And don't get met started on how amazing the cake tasted! Normally I wouldn't be able to eat a whole slice, but I did it faster than an Olympian! I love visiting Afro-Boer!More

Ive been to Afro Boer twice. The first time I really loved the space and the outdoor seating area (minus the chickens running around my feet - gross) The interior is chic and simple. Unfortunately my first experience was long and a little frustrating!! I...had planned a quick lunch with a friend as we both had a busy day - the food was nice, but the service took forever. A quick lunch turned into a painfully long wait for our food. My trout salad was nice, but my 'cooler' drink was way too sweet (id suggest less of the syrup). Despite this (as I thought it may have just been a bad day and a once off) I decided to come again at the weekend with my boyfriend who had never been. Again the ambience, interiors, garden etc were lovely (there are still chickens which I don't particularly like but they at least weren't at my feet this time). It wasn't too busy which was also nice (2pm). We ordered our drinks which came fairly quickly but had to wait a little longer than wanted too, to place our food order. Our waitress was quite slow but once our order was placed we were excited to try our food. The food took so long once again despite it not being that busy (maybe 8 tables occupied). I finished my drink before I got my food and the waitress didn't ask if I wanted another one. And when I asked for tap water that took ages too. Not sure how long it takes to pour a glass of water from a tap !? We ordered the smoked chicken panini and the fish and chips. Chicken panini- overall it was well presented and the flavours were good. However the guava relish was too sweet and the guava seeds (which almost broke my tooth) hadn't been sieved out. It should be a smooth relish or chunky with fruit (not seeds), with a bit more of a savoury taste. It felt like whomever developed that recipe thought it sounded good but hadn't actually tried it. There is no way I would serve a sandwich with extremely hard seeds in it. Its like more effort was made wrapping my panini with a bow than getting the dish spot on. Something to consider as it would have been awesome without the constant cracking of teeth on guava seeds. Fish and chips- the chips were yummy but the fish was completely overcooked and no one bothered to pin bone it. I think its lazy and shows no love for food when the chef can't even be bothered to de-bone a piece of fish before frying it.One bone happens but at least 10 is negligent. The bones were massive and could have easily got stuck in our throats. Not acceptable ! Please put more effort in next time. Overall the menu is diverse with something for everyone. This place has so much potential if they would just spend a bit more time getting their food perfect, out quicker and the waiting staff, just need to be a bit more on it. Im not sure if I would come back... I would most likely just come for cake and tea, as they looked yum on the counter.More

The name, as interesting as it is, does no justice to this stylish and modern deli/ cafe. We popped in after being somewhere else in Lynwood and I was expecting hearty farm-style breakfasts, lots of meat and lots of wooden furniture. Totally off the mark....It's a health-focused eatery with a range of options for those who want their food free of one thing or another, or just good old cooking with a local twist. The service was a little slow at first (to be fair, the place was busy and a big party of about 20 celebrating a birthday obviously taxed them) but once we were on the radar, it was great. It is a light, open and airy place with a substantial outside area. The menu was interesting and quite broad, and it was a delight to choose something new and different. Good for breakfast, good for lunch (I assume) and I am glad we fortuitously ventured in here. Keep it up!More

Don't bother to book a table. The restaurant takes no notice of your request. We especially went to the restaurant to choose a table for my mothers 88 birthday. On arrival at the restaurant they had given the table to someone else and we were...pushed into a corner. The service was extremely slow and food mediocre Not recommended.More

Dear Jenny - we are unsure why this happened and though we did try and follow up with staff, it is unclear why you did not get the table you booked. It was our mistake, and so we would just really like to sincerely apologise....More

Finally we booked to see friends for a late breakfast at this restaurant for which we had seen many rave reviews. It did not disappoint us. The menu has many interesting choices at very reasonable prices. The service we were treated to by Gloria in...the busy restaurant was efficient and friendly. The breakfast meals ( egg benedict / omlettes ) we ordered were presented to our expectations and were well received. Coffee was also excellent.More

Hi LaughingChef2014 - unfortunately not. We like being a bit old school. But we have plug points if you do have your own and want to sit and work in the 'Wit Olifant' room.
