Very aesthetically pleasing restaurant with aesthetically pleasing food. Cocktails tasted like cough syrup and when we raised the issue with the waitress and the barmen it was taken as a joke. The food took a very long time to come out. We had ordered dessert...just as our main meals arrived because we thought that would take as long. But to our surprise the dessert came while we were still eating our mains, at this point our table was overflowing with plates. Overall not impressed with this place, I will not be coming back here.More

The cocktails were weak, tasted like drinko-pop. The desert was cold and hard. The desert came while we having our main course. The hot chocolate was flat. The waitress just kept laughing when we voiced our issues. It’s a no from me.

One of our regular haunts - gem of a restaurant that serves up modern versions of traditional tapas, and it was a culinary delight. The ambiance is contemporary and welcoming, creating the perfect backdrop for an evening of gastronomic exploration. Each tapa was a masterpiece...of flavor, blending traditional ingredients with innovative techniques that excited the palate. The highlights were definitely the deconstructed patatas bravas and what only a local would consider to be tapas - bone marrow. Service was impeccable, with staff who were passionate about their offerings. Memorable, delicious, and utterly satisfying!More

Awhile ago - we were on an overnighter to collect a visa - the Brooklyn Mall was the closest to our Guest House – this restaurant was one of several we had to choose from - it was a cold evening - most of which...were empty – we were talked inside by a very pleasant waitron – a cosy corner with excellent food which was well presented – ‘looks good tastes even better’ can be said here – average pricing - and very attentive staff certainly worth a visitMore

We had been looking for new restaurants to try in Pretoria and the reviews for Wood & Fire were pretty good. We got there and firstly they couldn't decide on the music (songs were being cut half way). The waiters had ZERO zeal. We ordered...our drinks, my friend had basil Gin which was good and I had an elderflower mocktail that looked good but the taste wasnt great. I ordered a brie salad and seared tuna and my friend had the Tom yum chicken and prawn. My brie salad was ok, very big portion and although the bowl for presentation looked aesthetically pleasing it was very hard to eat out of so I had to use a side plate. The corn salsa accompanying the tuna was a miss for me. My friend's chicken was as hard and dry as an overcooked steak, there were about all of 4 prawns that she said tasted like they had just been added at the end and the rice was way overcooked. Half way through she stopped eating and even I could see that the rice looked like porridge. We reported this to the manager and all he said was "I guess I have lost a client and you wont be coming back". He did not ask to rectify the meal, or discount it, or offer a free drink...nothing. I would not recommend this place unless you want to go for the decor and take pictures...food wise it was a huge miss for my friend and I.More

Wood &Fire restaurant in Brooklyn, Pretoria has always been our favourite over a number of years - excellent service, fantastic food and great value for money. But lately something, or should I say A LOT, has changed... Although the service is still excellent, a lot...of our favourite dishes have disappeared from the menu! The prices have increased drastically and the portion sizes have shrunk. We have complained a few times, but looks like it fell on deaf ears. Today over lunch, the place is almost empty and I want to say "I told you só". So sad to see... Please bring back what worked in the first place! Anél BurroughsMore

Had fish and chips - raw chips was served. The service was non existent - waiters was having their own meetings on cellphones and chatting along without looking out for customers. Won't be going back and don't recommend this restaurant to anyone.

This was a family meal to end a varsity year before going home for the holiday season. The meal was exceptional. A rib eye, 2 seared tuna a fillet and a mushroom bowl. It is not often that every meal is exceptional. The fillet was...cold (for a family member who prefers their meal piping hot) but otherwise all perfectly cooked and very tasty. As Arnie says “we’ll be back!”More

This place is just incredible. Friendly, effective waiters. Great service. Comfortable seating. And the food. The food is absolutely delicious. The only place I ever recommend in Pretoria is W&F. They never disappoint. Love this place.
