We ordered 3 meals , prawns, sole and romesco prawn. With take away meals restaurant's seem to mostly fail with packaging. Did not even make it to the car in the parking lot when I noticed the bag leaking. The top on the bowl romesco was so flimsy it was spilling all the soup. Big mess in the bag. Food was ok but I would rather recommend you eat at the restaurant as we had very little sauce with our fish meals making the food taste very dry.

Take away packaging not great

Order take away meals for 2 families that was delivered to 1 home. Instead of receiving a small sauce for each meals seperatly only 1 large bowl was delivered. So we had a problem with dividing the sauce as we had no small container on hand to use. Phoned the restaurant and the answer was that they thought it would work better as all meals are for 1 family. Well in this case it was not and they should send orders as requested. Would this be done for a sit down meal? They forgot to add the bun for the prawn meals and here the chef poured the special sauce all over the prawns that was packed on top the chips. Needless to say that when it arrived all the chips was drenched in the sauce and was soggy. Attention should be gived on how food is packaged for that away. Used this restaurant before and did not have a problem but for some reason this order did not go well and we had 3 people very dissapointed with their meals

Lovely dinner & great ambience

Dinner @ Ocean Basket the Grove Mall was delicious, beautiful seafood dishes and gorgeous fresh salad served with ice cold drinks. Service and ambience was great, delightful staff, thank you to our friendly and helpful waiter Offentse. Defintely reccommend this as lovely dinner out on a warm summer's evening!

Shocking dish - inedible!

Ordered two meals with Uber Eats. My husband's meal was fine - met the expectations. I ordered "The basket". Supposed to include three panko prawns - since when do you serve crumbed prawn HEADS? I kept biting into these sharp, inedible "prawns". False advertising. If crumbed prawn heads is a "new thing" then specify it on the description of the dish. The photos were taken after I soaked off the crumbs t show what was being served as "panko prawns"!

Horrendous

It was a disaster from start to finish. First they didn’t have a strawberry dakari, then they had run out of the wine I chose. From there it was even more downhill. No Sole, hello are you a fish restaurant? So I ordered mussels with vegetables. So now I’ve eaten my muscles and still no vegetables, oh dear sorry we don’t have any vegetables , please accept chips instead! I think I was beyond over my meal and experience at this branch of Ocean Basket. Will not go there again.

I had a wonderful experience at ocean buckets The Groove Mall, I was served by the waiter called Sandile. I am definitely gonna come back because the service was perfect and the food was delicious.

Very affordable

The restaurant has a nice outside area which is very popular. The service is good and the food is very reasonably priced. The kingklip we had was very well prepared. It is a very popular place on Friday afternoons, evenings and during the weekends.

Open air and covered areas available to enjoy a sumptuous meal at this friendly restaurant. We love the atmosphere on a marble deck next to the garden on the square of the Grove Mall. The olive trees next to you feel like you are sitting on a Greek island. The service was quiick and the queen prawns the best in Pretoria. Huge and tasty! I think the secret lies in their special lemon butter sauce! The little bread rolls were not to good this time. They were a bit burnt on the outside.

Ocean basket is always good especially the calamari and the lemon butter is always a winner. The service is a little slow and the prices have increased a lot recently and the portion sizes have decreased.
