Celebrated my sister’s 40th on 17 October 2021 at Moyo’s Kirstenbosch. What amazing service from the team and the food was amazing from starters to dessert (Thank you chef Neil). After walking for hours in the Kirstenbosch gardens, we were so happy to see a restaurant. We had been rained on several times and looked like wet dogs but the staff were all so kind and welcoming. I asked the waiter about a couple of...items and told him that I was extremely allergic to gluten. He went to the chef and found a couple of great options for me. What I had served to me was delicious and more amazing than I had expected. The service was great and quick, as I was finishing my last sip of a drink the waiter was there asking if I wanted another. Both my husband and I were very happy with the service and what a gorgeous restaurant too!More

I visited Moyo's yesterday. Our previous visit last year was really good and I was looking forward to the same great experience. However, after being seated for quite a while without receiving as much as even just a menu, I ended up ordering take-away coffee...that I can drink on my way to the other restaurant in Kirstenbosch. At the counter, I had to wait for another patron who was also ordering at the counter, complaining that there was no service. Quite disappointing.More

Been once a while ago. Was on a Sunday at lunch. Food terrible, service worse. Never going back. Feels like a tourist trap.

I visited Kirstenbosch Gardens and I am disturbed by the behaviour of the workers - Jolene. We asked her for the bathroom and she told us that we should use the bathrooms that are all up the hill which was so far away from where...we were, I think bathrooms are fully open to the public - it’s very disrespectful as I had a baby with me who needed the toilet too. My daughter went to order at Moyo later on and she told them they couldn’t enter inside the restaurant and we should order from her but they were aware that she is not the nicest person and told her they were prefer ordering inside instead and while they were inside she came in and was rude to one of my girls and rudely told her not to tap the card on the machine. If she has issues with herself, she should not work around people. She is rude and the manager should do something about it. Her attitude stinks.More

To whom it may concern I would like to lay a formal complaint and it is to be noted in this email against your restaurant managers, Patricia and Floyd who work at the Moyo branch in Kirstenbosh Gardens. My mother is 83 years old and...justifiably scared of contracting COVID 19. It was son's birthday and it was the first time we were getting together as a family. It was a big deal to a close knit family. I literally begged for half an hour for the maitre d’ to allow us to sit outside because there were two empty tables to the right of the entrance. My mother still refused to go inside the restaurant because it would increase her chances of getting COVID. Out of desperation I asked to see the manager (Floyd) He refused but at my insistence he conferred with another manager, Patricia who also refused permission. He explained that because if he allowed us to be seated there it would lay a precedence to the other patrons. After all the fuss my mother reluctantly agreed to go inside. We had a lovely meal, enjoyed a wonderful get together and we celebrated my son's birthday. I was very content. However, upon exiting the restaurant the table we requested outside was full of people. As you can imagine I was furious! I spoke to both Floyd and Patricia to express my unhappiness. They apologized but what was more concerning was their double standards. An apology is not acceptable under these circumstances. It spoiled our day what should have been a happy event. I would greatly appreciate it if you speak to your managers and chastise them for their lack of judgement and discrimination. I refuse to enter the restaurant again. Sent from my iPhoneMore
