How is Life Grand Cafe Mall of Africa rated?

We had a few cold ones to wrap up the year. Service was good, beers nice and cold, the pizzas were excellent, pricing is a bit high for 3 of us the bill was over R1500.

Life NOT SO Grand

This service was DEPLORABLE to say the least. We went as a family of 7 and our waiter (Thando) was vervet you be seen and at no pint came to check up on us and if we needed anything during our meal. From start to...end this was a complete disaster and an experience I will not repeat. The menus took at 10min to arrive, we then had to try and spot and flag down our waiter to order drinks and food. My glass of wine arrived rancid and had to send to back and request a new bottle be opened in front of me. We then had to flag the manager down and inform that we had BEEN waiting for our food to come, he went to check and clearly our food and been standing as he returned with it and our missing waiter but it was almost cold. The cherry on top of the entire nightmare was the bill... this came with an automatic service fee already added, when I asked why, the missing waiter informed that bills over over R1,000.00 receive an automatic addition of the fee to the bill. This is completely unacceptable and explains why we received no service, the waiter KNEW that his tip was coming irrespective of how he treated us. If this is your modus operandi, this should be CLEARLY communicated. I do not in any way agree paying a fee for service I did not receive. Also, our party was not large enough to warrant this automatic addition. Needless to say, I will NOT be returning as dining out during these times of Covid should be as pleasant as possible... we ha e to endure a lot of protocol and risks to dine out, the least you can do is provide hood service, especially as the industry has been adversely affected during lockdownMore

No life here

Service is slow, dished up with a large portion of lack of interest. Wine prices are massively inflated. Food presentation is good, taste average but again pricing leaves the meal difficult to appreciate. You need to serve better food with great service at these prices....The overall experience in not worthwhile. Life is too short to waste your time hereMore

Vastly overpriced, staff annoy you.

I will not visit this place again with their ridiculous pricing structure, staff not courteous and make inappropriate comments towards customers.

A salad eaters paradise

The build your own salad bar is out of this world. The variety of ingredients to choose from is refreshing. I will keep going back for this well priced and delicious smorgasbord of original salad components. Oh...and 3 different salad dressing flavours to choose from....I...tried all of them by just putting a little on my salad, one at a time (without blending them) The atmosphere is cosmopolitan (for a mall) but has the added advantage of outside seating in the fresh air. Well worth a visit.More

Disappointing breakfast

We had a disappointing breakfast here today, which was surprising because we have eaten here several times before and the food has always been good. The manager, Thabiso, handled things calmly and professionally which is actually a better measure of good service than one bad...meal, in my opinion.More

Quick Family Breakfast

Popped in on a monday morning. We were a little disappointed in the service and my mothers avocado was rock hard so she could not eat it. The rest of the meals were good and the super fresh juices went down well.

The food is great. The atmosphere is very busy.

Our server Edwina was great. She went the extra mile by even dishing up the salad from the salad bar for us. The food was fresh and delicious. They cater well for vegetarians here. The gun n tonic was delicious. The food is over priced....The restaurant on this particular day, was full and very busy and this made conversations a bit difficult.More
