I ordered a lamb biryani and when it came I was underwhelmed. The lamb was not tender, there were no lentils in it as detailed in the menu description, and it has a sweetness to it which didn’t blend well with. I didn’t enjoy the...meal at allMore
We weere having lunch with a friend who is always on the lookout for good restaurants at a reasonable price. This was his latest find. the advantage of this resurant is that it is very easy for parking near the restaurant in a verylarge car...park.We went lunch time which is not a good time to go to Indian restaurants for some reason, but although we ate late, we could appreciate it would hve a good atmosphere and ambience in the evening We started with Onion Bhaji followed by Chicken Makhnie. I like cauliflower Bhaji which was not on the menu but I saw that they had Aloo Gobhi Matar which included Cauliflower. I asked whether they could make Cauliflower which they made. Different to those I usually have, but extremely tasty. Extremely good wine list. We had La Motte. Mango Lassi was also very good Pleasant service. Possibly the best Indian food I have had in South Africa.More
We often get take aways from Royal Punjab and are never disappointed. Just 10-15 minutes wait for freshly prepared, delicious curry. The chicken samosas and the Chicken Badami are standouts. Great seating if you don’t want to take your meal home.
The family visited Royal Punjab late last week for dinner.
The food was, as always, excellent
I like that they have replaced the thin crispy Roti with a type of flavoured crisp; great texture and easy to handle with the fingers.
They have...also replaced one of the 3 sauces with pickled lemons which really rates right up there on my flavour list
we each ordered 4 Samosas which comes with a dipping sauce
I had a South African favourite, a lamb Bunny Chow HOT, great flavour, generous amount of meat. My only gripe is that I ordered hot but what was served was medium at best.
My Daughter had her usual Bombay Potatoes and she was in 7th Heaven with her meal
I must confess I cannot recall what my wife ordered but she did say it was very good
Fresh-made Garlic & Butter Naan
All in All, we had a good evening

This is our favorite take away curry spot. The dishes are well prepared and the Chicken Badami is the best I’ve ever tasted. The restaurant also offers a very reasonable Sunday buffet selection. The restaurant opens up to a kiddies play ground , so ideal...for families with young kidsMore
We had a very nice meal at this restaurant. The curries were fantastic and they had a decent wine list and a selection of deserts. For the most of the evening we were the only occupied table (perhaps because it was a Monday). They also...do takeaways for collection and through food ordering apps.More
Came here as a final meal with family on our SA holiday. I’ve had Indian in SA once before and this was similar. Meat in a runny sauce. Now expect this in a Korma but other dishes were like this. No chunks of onions, peppers...or tomatoes. All very odd.
The onion Bhajis were nice but the staff very slow at topping buffet up.More
We only had take aways from this restaurant. I would definitely recommend the butter chicken. It was rich and very flavorful. Samoosas also good. The ambience and atmosphere of the restaurant is however average, which is why we decided to take the food to go.
