Ooo. This is the place for delicious Thai food. Tucked in Montecasino this gem of a place is to go for authentic Thai. Efficient and friendly staff. Quick service. We enjoyed the shrimp and noodles.
My wife and I had lunch.
I had the Duck curry. Pleasant but not anywhere special. The Champagne was warm, although the waitress assured us it was in the fridge.
The service was friendly. Atmosphere was peaceful just how we wanted it.
First off, making a booking was a challenge. My name is not difficult and it had to be spelt a few times before the person on the phone got it right. Secondly, we arrived and ordered our starters and main courses at the same time...( 6.45) as we had a show to watch at 8.00pm. Our starters arrived within 10 minutes. The two soups were declared really flavorsome . My prawns tempura was average. By 7.30 we had not received our main course and were getting a little concerned, as we had our show starting in 30 min. On inquiring, there was some swift action. But what transpired was unacceptable and very unprofessional. In front of our waiter, the manager apologized that we had waited so long and then proceeded to blame the waiter for the slow service. How embarrassing? Our food eventually arrived 10 minutes later. Two of our curries were bland, the other two were flavoursome. Unfortunately, We had to eat our food in a hurry in order to get to our show on time. Overall, not a good experience at all.More
The restaurant was busy and understaffed on a Saturday night. While the hot soup was good, the main meals of a stir fried rice dish and a green mosaman curry were very disappointing. The rice tasted like it was cooked a few days ago and...the beef in the curry was like shoe leather and under spiced. A sadly disappointing meal.More
The outside of this place didn't really sell me but after looking at all the montecasino food options I decided I wanted Thai, and man am I glad I did!
Drinks are fairly priced, R25 for castle lite, mains are very fair at between R120...and R140 so much so that two of us ordered three mains. Pad Thai, mussuman Curry and duck stir fry. Absolutely delicious!! Totally worth a visit for great food.
My beer was put in an iced wine bucket. Total winner 😎More
