Lunch with hubby. Beautiful restaurant good service and yummy food. Tastefully plated. You choose your seafood that’s on display which is then prepared for you.

Was surprised that the fish was so tough. Informed the waiter and he didn't care. Service was not great. Waiter kept disappearing for long periods. Side dishes were cold when they arrived to my table. Main fish dishes do not come with a side. You...must choose and pay for it. Its misleading. Just charge more and include the side order in the price. Salad was very good.More

The host, waiters and food is amazing. Sophisticated but cozy environment. A must visit for good seafood at reasonable prices.

Our food at the Codfather was absolutely brilliant; I had fillet steak with queen prawns while my son had fillet steak with various sides like creamed spinach and hand cut fries. The steaks were cooked to perfection and the sides were a wonderful accompaniment. The...wine that was offered with the food was first class and there were various cocktails and spirits to choose from. The owner Rob was a great and humourous host who made us feel very comfortable and welcome.More

What a fab night! Yummy yummy oysters and mussels and prawns. The owner was delightful with sharing enchanting stories to my daughter about the fish in the fish tank. We will definately be back. Best fish restaurant in Jozi

The service was impeccable and top class. The manager or “The Codfather” cause he fitted the part was awesome and attentive. The lobster was divine and the creme brulee sublime. It’s is a bit pricey but if you make it a special event ( date...night / birthday etc you will not be disappointed. They have a sushi menu, cocktail menu and a variety main menu to suit anyone. Vegan isn’t catered for but vegetarian is. Even the sides were tasty. The setting can also be versatile that it can cater for romantic to business to party do.More

Had dinner last night at the Codfather. Fantastic food, great drinks selection but most of all it is the staff and Rob which make this such a great restaurant. Will definitely visit on my next trip.

We had our year end function here, +- 200 people. We were served finger foods throughout the night which was very tasty and of high quality. Staff and barmen did a great job ;-)

On a recent trip to Johannesburg, South Africa with my daughter we decided to find a highly rated fish restaurant, so we went on TripAdvisor and The Codfather had great reviews, so we thought we'd give it a try. A very bright, spacious restaurant. We...were warmly welcomed upon arrival and shown to our table. Our waitress was lovely and very helpful. We decided to have a starter each and then a sharing platter of sushi and sashimi. For starter I had the oven baked octopus, my daughter had the panko coated prawns, both of which were very nice, I would say the octopus was slightly the better. The sharing platter we had was also very good and amazing value. I was full after two courses, my daughter tried the bubble gum flavoured ice cream, which she thoroughly enjoyed. All in I think our bill was slightly less than £50.00 which also included four drinks.More
