The Pattisserie is beautifully decorated and reminds one of a sweet, fantasy world filled with sweet delights. I joined in on a birthday party – where all three other parties order the French toast. I ordered cake and coffee – which was divine. My friends...thoroughly enjoyed their dishes. Service was professional and attentive. The toilets were impeccable. I loved the attention to detail. Ideal for coffee, drinks, lunch or snacks in a beautiful environment.More

The Patisserie in Northlands Post Office Centre is well located, easy parking and the service and product offering remains of a high standard.

Thought with all the hype, let me go and visit. Mmmm. The benchmark in Northern JHB is Fourno's Dunkeld. Size wise the two venues are totally different to be fair. So one would expect small and intimate = better quality on all fronts. Far from...true. Service was pathetically slow, coffee was McDonalds comparable, quiche which is a signature dish, good but not great, baked goods? Drive around to Fourno's Dunkeld where quality is a 100% guarantee every time. Not worth the visit, average food, average baked goods, VERY pricey, and a very limited menu offering. Definitely not a top 20 JHB venue.More

My wife and I decided to work from a coffee shop today, and since this one has been consistently voted one of the best, we thought we'd try it. Beautiful pastries and cakes, and the ones we had were tasty - Vanilla cupcake and Chocolate...Brownie with cream cheese (a bit like a cheesecake) was very good. Situated in a small shopping centre, one can sit on tha balcony or inside the shop. I do recommend this for a quiet coffee and chat.More

I love enjoying a sweet nibble and a coffee here at times during the day – it is well situated and close to several businesses. The sweet treats ensure that we keep on returning! The service is wonderfully pleasant and personal. Plenty of parking in...the center. Ideal for coffee & cake, breakfast or lunch.More

The Patisserie still has a charming vibe and snappy service. Cakes are great. Sandwiches and pies for lunch were average and expensive. And coffee really needs a refurb. With all of the excellent artisan coffees with real latte art really is past time that Patisserie...caught up.More

In 2016 some classmates and I interviewed the owner as part of an MBA project and he told us that quality is king. Indeed overtime I have been there the food and drinks are above & beyond the normal cafe, cakes, patisserie offerings. I would...recommend the chai latte and the red velvet cheesecake.More

The Patisserie has the best baked cheesecake I've ever tasted. If it didn't all go straight to the hips, I'd make it my staple food. I've also ordered their carrot cake and other treats and have never been disappointed. My birthday cakes are also made...by them. Long live The Patisserie.More

If you are looking for the best carb laden treats in Jhb this is where you need to be. It's a coffee shop out front and a cake factory for the rich and famous of Joburg in the back. Every thing on the menu is...amazing, made with love and overseen by the owner who maintains the standards. Not the best coffee but top on so many other levels, combined with the personal service, it's a winner form me.More

Quick coffee stop at this delightful little hole in the wall. Because I had a sugar craving I ordered a macaron, the mini apple crumble, a custard tart and a chocolate tart. Don't Judge my moment of weakness. 🌈😂 I have to say that the...chocolate tart was absolutely delicious and I'd go back just for that. The custard tart was fresh and not overly sweet. The macaron was caramel but I got more of a sweet vanilla from it. I really enjoyed the apple crumble even though the food guilt had already set in by this stage - the atmosphere is cosy and intimate. It doesn't seem like a good place for children as it's very small so I'd rather not. They bake cakes for special orders and I'm sure could possibly cater for small functions. Looks like a good place for small business meetings or for guilt soaked solo love affairs with sugar. I'd go back in secret for sureMore

Fantastic lunch spot. The red velvet cupcakes are very highly sought after! If you are going there for a lunch I would recommend one of the pies. They are freshly baked, and although they look tiny, they pack a punch.

After hearing so much about this place I've tried it a few times hoping to find the food item that will blow my mind. Unfortunately I find them over priced and average. A few of the cakes did now wow . The Macarons were average...and some over baked. The cake slices were sometimes dry as well. I would far rather go to Belles down the road.More

The Patisserie is iconic and while not cheap, delivers on quality and taste. Service is friendly and helpful and seating indoors is charming - outdoors less so. Coffee really not up to scratch - way past time for some contemporary barista training.

I love this place because it is one of the few places in Jhb that makes decent macarons! I also quite like their brownies. Its in post office centre (which is a bit of a bizarre place) but the setting is quaint and charming. Their...home made pies are also winners!More

Hi Neena. I will enquire when next at the Patisisserie. Helm from Helen’s Cakes and John her husband are the current owners. They are Greek. So should know the community. Best Michael
