Decided to go to this restaurant on a Tuesday night after viewing a number of other restaurants within the area. Ordered 3 different vegetarian meals and was pleasantly taken aback. Taste was amazing. Presentation of the food not really the best but the taste will...More

My wife and our friend enjoyed dinner here last night. The service and drinks were stellar, but our dinners were uneven. The tofu dish was really good as was the pad thai, but the beef noodles were pretty unmemorable. Still, I'd go back and try...More

We were greeted and taken to our seats quickly. The coconut and chicken soup was really good and the pad thai, too. When I proceded to pay, being a tourist I wanted to get rid of all my Rands, so I paid cash and the...More

When I initially entered they were not so warm and friendly, but after I was seated and engaged with the hostess she began being friendly through the course of the night. Ambience is excellent and the view from outside beautiful. If you planning on a...More

Anyone a bit familiar with Thai food and used to that restaurant would tell you it used to be much better. Was there with my family early January, for lunch and was disappointed at the food. Service is still good and friendly, the place nice...More

Must do the wok beef! Great service. Reasonably priced. Generous portions. Would go back. Most dishes have medium and spicy. Not much mild. Avg price for 2 with wine and starter 700R

Description
The flagship of the Thai Africa Group is undoubtedly Wangthai Sandton which overlooks the prestigious Nelson Mandela Square. The most authentic Thai restaurant outside of Thailand. Wangthai Sandtonalso serves the DIY dining experience: sensational Thai Suki Hot Pot. A culinary concept which dates back over 1 000 years in Asian history, Thai Suki Hot Pot today - continues to tantalise the pallet and tease the senses with its fragrant oriental flavours. Best enjoyed as a group affair; the Thai Suki Hot Pot sees an aromatic broth, brimming with flavourful Eastern ingredients, placed in a pot, and atop an induction stove - within the centre of the table. This simmers away throughout the evening, while guests gentle poach their favourite selection of fresh ingredients. There is very little effort involved, other than to indulge, at leisure, in the refreshingly light tastes of Thailand. Wangthai, invites both businessmen and women, as well as the social sect, to sample this ancient cooking tradition, to which it has added a unique measure of contemporary stylishness.
