Great restaurant

Spent a few days in Joburg in January, and ate here a couple of times.....the food was so good, wish I could have gone more often! Tried a variety of starters and mains - all of them excellent, tasty and well cooked and presented. Good...value for money Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. I'm coeliac, and while they didn't have gluten free bread, they were able to adapt items from the menu for me, nothing was too much trouble. I discovered a new-to-me wine from their list that I will seek out now I'm back in UK. COVID precautions were good. Would definitely recommend, and hope that I get the chance to go back.....although it could be a while before I'm in Joburg again ☹More

Skinny Lamb Chops are amazing!

Four of us went for dinner and I had the skinny lamb chops and roast cauliflower. Six weeks later my mouth still waters writing this review! Since then I have tried a number of times with online recipes and Nothing beats the Nikos tastes! Well...done to Andrew and his crew. A lovely meal with a jovial upmarket atmosphere.More

Great food and service - wide selction.

Been here a few times for lunch and its been great. Always start with a few meze (suggest the trio but add another flatbread to the order). Had the kebabs and the yiros and the prawns - the prawns are excellent. We had some meze...then shared the prawns. Owner also owns restaurant next door. Service is excellent and they often have specials at lunch like have a main and desert is free.More

Perfectly Greek

What an amazing place, same owners as Old Duck's so I had high hopes. They were met, and are, time and again as I just keep returning. The food is incredible, service always good. From starters to main (I do not do desert) I have...never been let down. Love the skinny pork chops, the skewers are also very good and the Yiro's always loved by the kids. Special place to me, the owner assisted me in presenting an engagement ring to my now fiance in a very special way! Thank you Nikos!More

Great food and staff, pity the 'boss' does not believe in covid.

We are always greeted with great courtesy when we arrive. The service is excellent. The food is tasty. Staff are well trained and always wear their masks and frequently sanitize. Unfortunately, the senior white male who was managing the orders did not wear his mask...the whole time we were in the restaurant, was yelling orders into the kitchen across food, hugged a number of patrons and went on to handle food. What a shame. Everything at Nikos is well done but one man really soured our experience of this excellent restaurant.More

Awesome Greek food

Just had some of the best Greek food I have eaten. The Calamari was tender and cooked to perfection. The Skopelos (pulled kleftijo) was delicious and Spicy Lamb Kofta was tasty. Deserts were creative especially the Corrugated Baklava.

THE WORST NIKOS OF THE WHOLE GROUP - ZERO CHARM

We absolutely love Nikos but not this branch. It has NO CHARM and does not even feel like a Nikos. I don't even enjoy the food here because the ambience is so dreary so the food does not even taste as good. Nothing wrong with...the food but staff can sometimes have a unhelpful arrogant attitude, which does not help. This branch is too ordinary and it feels like a million other restaurants. VERY SAD because we LOVE Nikos but in all the times I have tried to get excited about this branch, I have just left feeling more and more dejected. It does not grow on you, it just gets worse.More

Best Greek Food

This is a great restaurant with a large and tasty Greek menu. Staff are always friendly and food is always delicious. Highly recommend.

Family favourite

Our family often visits Nikos and it’s definitely our go to restaurant. The food is always excellent, staff are friendly and attentive and cocktails are good.

Love the place

Been to Nikos many many times - the food is always excellent, service is friendly and efficient and the menu extremely well priced. Now I just have to build up the spirit to try something other than the skinny lamb chops... (my family has had...a wider variety - yiros. kebabs etc - and it's all good).More
