We went there as part of Restaurant Week XXL and it was an amazing experience. The food was sooooooo amazing! And the ambiance is trendy. We had some crumbed olive dish - for a person who does not eat olives, I could not stop. Their rib-eye steak was cooked to perfection and dessert was chocolate heaven, We can't stop recommending it to our friends and family. We are definitely going back.

Place is beautiful. Good vibe. Food was great. Recommend the vegetarian bowls. Big selection for vegans & vegetarian. Food is priced a bit on the expensive side but it helps because you order tapas and share. Friends liked the meatballs. Good service. Clean restaurant. Not sure about WiFi.

Delicious Hispanic cuisine Our daughter recommended this restaurant for our 44th wedding anniversary and we in turn recommend it strongly! The cuisine is delicious and the menu carries a wide selection. The atmosphere is warm and cozy and the staff very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed the grilled goats cheese with tomato gravy and as the main, the seafood paella. Both dishes we prepared extremely well and the taste of each was most delectable indeed. The wine selection is wide but rather overpriced. The beer on tap is limited to 2 and also overpriced. However, we enjoyed the Jameson whiskey and Inveroche gin. The restaurant is strongly recommended and we will certainly be going back!

Despite Covid limitations, this trendy restaurant was close to full the evening we booked. The decor is unique and the setting very attractive. The drinks menu was extensive and the food was good. The waiters were polite and attentive but management could have bolstered their numbers as they were not coping. The main issue was the time taken to order and receive whatever was ordered. The starters arrived 2 hours after ordering. In fact, they arrived 30 minutes after receiving the main courses. 1.5 hours for a main course in itself is far too long. The obstacle appeared to be the kitchen. It simply could not cope. The two “managers” hiding behind the glass wall supposedly supervising the output of food, seemed to have no function. The most obvious thing was to roll up their sleeves and get busy in the kitchen to assist the staff who could not produce within a reasonable time. As this was a personal celebration, we persisted with another order. After another long wait and 3 hours since first arriving, we asked for the last order to be placed in a take-away bag. Suffice to say, we did not eat the last course at the restaurant. One certainly does not want to wait 2 to 3 hours for food. Despite the ambience and waiters doing their best to hide poor management, this was a very disappointing experience.

3 of the 6 at our table ordered the artichoke and fennel fish... There was no Artichoke or fennel. When asked while eating the waitress said it was in the sauce. We were doubtful as there was nothing green in sight and nut even a hint of artichoke. Later when asked, the manager said both should have been visible. 1 of us ordered the fillet kebab. It was Soooo salty it was inedible. Literally. Returned to the kitchen. 4/6 mains got a thumbs down. The Whiskey and honey crema (basically a tasteless, rubbery pannacotta) served with granadilla custard and almond praline... Both of the 2 ordered had no granadilla custard and a dusting a praline. No honey or whiskey flavour anywhere. The tapas were fine and the chocolate nemesis incredible. The venue and ambience are lovely. I am hard pressed to write a negative review. To top off the above the manager came over and we shared our experience. She said she'd like to give us a voucher to come back, and she'd look into it. She disappeared, never to be seen again. No feedback from the kitchen and no voucher. It left a bad taste in more than one way.

I was a guest at Leighwood Lodge in the leafy suburbs of Johannesburg in ‘the Parks’ and was advised to go to the La Boqueria Restaurant. We were welcomed by Suzie, Richard and their incredibly friendly service team. Our thirst-quenching ‘Lady Jane’ (cold brew breakfast tea, Stoney Ginger Beer, granadilla & fresh thyme) was served bitterly cold as was the Castle Lager on tap in good time. We started with ‘Blistered Edamane Beans, Zucchini Fries and really (and we mean really) enjoyed the Butcher’s Daughter (300g matured rib-eye with chimichhurri patatas, sautéed green beans and spinach). We sweetened the lunch off with El Gelato vanilla scoops. Tremendously enjoyable.

La Boqueria in Parktown North, Johannesburg Such a wonderful experience. As you enter you can see the elegance of the restaurant. Well appointed, warmly welcoming. We had a few tapas … superb. And the seafood paella was a generous dish … four of us enjoyed sharing it. We were attended to by Maureen, a cheerful young server. Service was good and quick. Plenty to choose for even vegans and vegetarians. A bit of Spain right here in Johannesburg.

What an incredible find. A friend recently mentioned that a mutual friend had recently opened this fine restaurant in Parktown North. We had always respected this person as an exceptional restaurateur and as we had a night free in JHB decided to give ourselves a treat! La Boqueria is lively, vibrant and the food really excellent . Prosper our waiter was super attentive and our evening out will long be remembered as being right up there. Well done Marius and Ben, another winner where you deserve all the success you desire. Thank you for a wonderful evening

Lovely large space with outdoor seating too. Strong vintage vibe. Service was good. Vegans have options but not that many. Portions are often tapas type servings so you may need to order a few. Food generally good. Worth a try.

The service received from Treasure was great, the venue is nice and the desserts were fine. Sadly the rest of the food was very disappointing: The blistered edamame beans were drowning in soya sauce and over salted and the wood fired goat's cheese comprised of a large bowl of very bland pureed tomato (supposed to be a salsa), a small amount of goat's cheese & half a teaspoon of tasteless olive puree (supposed to be pesto). The most disappointing was the Paella de Marisco which was a glutinous mush – overcooked, soggy flavourless rice, drenched in bland tomato puree with some seafood strewn on top. The traditional paella favours created by the base sauce (sofrito) made of onion, garlic, paprika, saffron, fresh diced tomatoes and peppers were completely missing, as was the socarrat, the caramelised, crispy bottom of the rice which is a sign of a well made paella.

On a whim decided to have dinner at LA Boqueria. Never knew it. Wow. From starters to main (we had a selection of tapas), the flavours in every course were sublime. Atmosphere out on the verandah was idyllic. Staff were very friendly and attestation Well done La Boqueria. I would highly recommend a night here.

Year end function with a Spanish flare. The food, the decor, the ambiance and more importantly the dancers, was memorable and I do believe may just be my new favourite place. Great service is a rarity now days and the staff at La Boquiera delivered over and beyond...thank you 100x!

Still one of our favourite restaurants, and today was next level. Ham & Cheese croquettes, pork taco and some tuna tiradito. All great! Strayed from our usual Lomo Saltado Kabob, and tried the prawns. Great choice, perfectly cooked, tasty and will have it again. Ambiance was great, perfect day. Thanks Candy, Oliver and Captain.

Some of the best food I've eaten was last night. The tapas is awesome, and a perfect taster before diving into one of their excellent main courses. The 4 of us had different dishes and each was excellent. The waitress was professional, engaging and fun. The cocktails were potent and satisfying. R2200 including tip for 4, great value in a great venue

Food was very very good, well seasoned. Everyone was happy with their choices. The drinks were fun and tasty. Worth a visit. My favorite tapas was the trinchado de carne and chicaronnes. I enjoyed the prawn taco. the street corn was refreshing and good.
