Great innovative food to share; fabulous beers brewed on site; lovely service; artsy, post-industrial vibe. Had wonderful vegan dinner and drinks pre-Market Theatre. The scene reeks with a hip, laid-back innovation energy in the midst of an otherwise gloomy area. Definitely worth visiting and supporting.

Great conversion of industrial space made into a brewery and restaurant. Beer selection was awesome, even for a brewery, but we really enjoyed the South African gins. Super friendly staff, even on a busy Valentine Day's night. Food was spectacular. Tapas style. Eclectic. All with...unique flavors and textures. Highly recommend getting something from every category. Very comfortable space and iwth high roof, you didn't have to shout to talk at the tables. And in comparison to USA prices, this level of service and food could NEVER be matched in the USA. Definite winner.More

A restaurant within the Mad Giant Brewery complex. Enjoy tapas style dishes in a modern-industrial atmosphere- good wine but also try the local beer...

We very much enjoyed all the food and drink that we got here. However, it often took many requests for our waiters to get our order right, and we never seemed to have enough napkins for the table. Overall, however, this was probably the best...meal that we had in Johannesburg.More

Consistently excellent. We have recently had meals here; once during the final of the Rugby World Cup, and once with an overseas guest keen to try local beers on a Monday evening. Both experiences were worthy of the highest praise. Service and attention during the...frenetic rugby game didn’t falter and we enjoyed a most delicious lunch shared amongst us. The most recent visit, on a quiet Monday night, provided the same excellent service, knowledgeable insight into the beers on offer, and delicious food. What an absolute gem in the Jozi CBD. We will be sure to keep going back. Thank you and well done.More

Cerviche and mushroom were my favourite, the second best I think we’re the chicken and Bao. Everything else was pretty good too. The service and ambience were quite nice as well.

Made reservations and chose to Uber not wanting to park on Fox street at night - correct decision! Then had a wonderful evening with friends. We started with some drinks followed by wine. The drinks menu is more than ample with something for everyone. The...food is apparently served tapas style but it actually boils down to dishes just served on a single plate - some really difficult to share by four, for eg the bao. There is a nice variety of dishes with several of the vegetarian variety. Do not be afraid to order multiple dishes right from the start as portions are not overwhelming at all. Also, we found some dishes more than reasonably expensive - four grilled asparagus with some grated parmesan for R60. I personally felt that any basic home cook could have delivered this for a fraction of the price. The table agreed that the only exceptional dish of the evening was the ceviche. Other than that it was overall underwhelming. The duck we thought was dry. The lamb and the veil tartare both needed some acidity. For some reason the lamb was quite heavy. Chicken yakatori at least was as expected. Desert consists of some interesting combinations. I can now proudly say that I had tasted a bone marrow gelato and now know from experience to give it a skip next time. The guava sorbet was left untouched. Desert was saved by the cheese platter. Service was quick and efficient but uninterested. I don’t think that we would be returning - been there got the Tshirt...More

This restaurant was truly divine from the ambiance to the entrees. The staff was warm, gracious, timely, and extremely helpful. Jeffrey was the most enjoyable server who left the whole table smiling and satisfied. The food was the best I've had in years. I could...not recommend more!More

We ate here on our first night in Johannesburg. We had contacted the restaurant when we booked to explain our dietary requirements. On arrival they knew all about us and had ensure there was plenty of choice. There was a great menu and every dish...was terrific and tasted as good as it looked. Service was really friendly and knowledgeable. The menu was also great value. Our only disappointment was that it was not busier. It may have been a Monday evening but this restaurant deserves to busy every night of the week.More

Probably not. It is a big place. Unless your group is big (more than 5 people).
