We had a great Steak feast here. The service was good, as was the wine selection. I will go back for more.

This vleisbehandelaar certainly met our carnivorous cravings with its beautifully basted lamb ribs, ample in its portion size, served with our choice of roasted vegetables and a side portion of fresh chilli. Our selection of starters of bone marrow; onion rings stuffed with beef mince...and mozzarella; as well as the pear and gorgonzola salad (generously sprinkled with candied walnuts and cranberries), was a mouthwatering prelude of what was to follow. The mains of as- previously-mentioned succulent lamb ribs, as well as the ribeye steak with bone marrow sauce and roasted red pepper chilli salsa, was tastefully tender and delicious. The ribeye, was however, slightly overly cooked for the requested medium-rare; which incidentally, is beautifully visually displayed on a card on the table, with your steak preferences from rare to well done. There is a vast selection of carefully selected wines, that are also on decorative display in the restaurant, adding to its warm and cozy ambience. Our service was prompt and our waitress extremely friendly and efficient. The prices are moderate to high, but worth the quality of food and service we received. A lovely dining experience, with good company, made the fact that we were actually in a shopping mall, fade into oblivion!More

I am South African. I have had many steaks in different restaurants in SA. The fillet steak that I had at Hinterland was simply the best I have ever had in a restaurant in South Africa. It’s as simple as that! The steak was cooked...to perfection, soft, tender and was perfect. Superbly complemented by the Rust en Vrede Syrah. Thanks to Trip advisor reviews this restaurant came up with great recommendation and we were ecstatic to find it. Meat lovers will love the variety of dishes and the wine is excellent! Also had super service! Highly recommended!

Being that the restaurants speciality is steak and seeing that they pride themselves on preparing to order even showing visually what to expect when ordering rare, medium rare, medium, medium well and well done steaks. We ordered "medium" and were served a T Bone which...was a combination of well and medium well, it was then sent back and we were then presented with a rare / medium rare steak which we again brought the managers attention to. Finally we were provided with a medium rare to medium steak both parties having been worn down after this. Wine was good, crème brule was good - sadly a poor performance by the griller and the manager needs to be better equipped when dealing with situations such as this.More
