The food was excellent and the service was very good. It is an Italian Restaurant. They serve Savoury Waffles, Sweet Waffles, Pasta dishes, Hot or Cold Beverages and I was very amazed to see that they serve a Glass of Cold Milk. They also have Soup of the day served with Ciabatta Bread. The are also very reasonable with their prices. So if you are looking for a new place to eat why not try them.

Waffle heaven

Very good but stingy on the bacon

Ordered french toast, was delicious but only two slices of bacon with 2 slices of bread? Expected more like 4 slices of bacon. The frozen coffee was delicious

Service - got our tea,waited for 2 muffins and 2 slices of toasts, had to go ask for it twice before we got it!! Tea by then ice cold.

Waffle Heaven 😍

OMG I've just died and gone to waffle heaven!! Yes it was that good! I have been craving waffles for the past couple of weeks and had heard about this little gem so decided to try it today, and boy am I glad that I did so. Started off with their thick Italian hot chocolate which left me wanting more, it was so delicious and perfect for a cold Winter's day. Moving onto their Banana and Caramel waffle which was nice and fluffy and made to perfection! Thanks to Paoletto my waffle preggy craving was satisfied and both mommy and baby VERY happy

Sunday morning Let down

Seeing so many church goers strolling across we decided to follow suit. A lot of people struggled to operate the door... Ordered a coffee and cronut. The coffee was good but the pastry didn't arrive. Have up on it and called for the bill. During the very long time it took that to arrive, the pastry arrived. It would have been nice with coffee, but on its own it was too sweet. For good measure the waitor nonchalantly threw a reserved sign at us. Perhaps the next patrons are more important than us. Lovely coffee. Terrible service.

Best Waffles

I'm not exaggerating when I say these guys do the best waffles ever! Coffee is strong and well made. Service is slow but definitely worth it.

Decor too 'bitty' for daughter!

Our daughter, the sophisticated UK resident, found the look of this venue rather off putting - very 'home made' and 'provincial'! That aside, this small cafe just near her Dad's business, is a convenient place for a cup of coffee and for those who are less watchful of the waistline, a waffle. I found it rather odd on a recent visit when a psychologist who had some some kind of personality assessment on a person, was discussing the results .... in a public place! This has little or nothing to do with the cafe as a venue, but I was wondering about HPCSA regulations? I was wishing that I had some earphones so that I could literally 'tune out' what was being said! On that occasion, I cancelled my order for a waffle, quickly drank my coffee, and left hurriedly.

We were a table of 8 for Sunday lunch, very good thing we booked as the place was quite busy. The other foods my friends ordered seemed good but I came particularly for the waffles, which turned out to be fresh and light and delicious. I wish I had ordered two waffles at once due to the long wait for the food, oh well next time! For fresh well made waffles the wait was not an issue for me, I'd much prefer that over the sugar dense frozen waffles that is served everywhere else. The waiter was extremely friendly, and the manager also took time to check on our table. Unfortunately I don't stay nearby otherwise I would visit much much more often.

Revisit - no improvement in the service at all.

I was last at this café at the beginning of the year and my experience was a shocker as written. It has since undergone a name change to "Paolettos" but the menu is still the same and unfortunately, still no change in their dismal slow service. Was invited to have waffles with friends visiting from abroad. A table of 12 was booked. We sat inside and there wasn't enough ventilation indoors in the sweltering humidity and heat, even though this was mid-morning. Our drinks order was promptly taken and served, thereafter the service was painfully slow with our waffles being served. We waited for more than 45 mins. Our waiter also did not check to see if we needed more drinks and did not let us know when our waffles were going to be served. I had to find out how much longer. The manager did not even come to our table to ask if all was good. Eventually when the waffles were served, it really just wasn't worth the wait - by then we were all irritated. I certainly won't be wasting any more time visiting this place.

No Longer Cafe Bruegel

This restaurant has now changed its name to "Paolettos" and is owned by an Italian family. They have kept the Belgian waffles on their menu and are still as good as ever. I have eaten there a number of times (since they changed ownership) and it has been really good - their toasted sandwiches are amazing if you like a crispy toast with a nice filling - my favourite is spinach and feta. I tried their ravioli with spinach and ricotta cheese in a cream sauce and it was great. After having given all this praise, now is where the 2 star rating comes in.....It was my son's Birthday and my husband and I took him and his wife there for lunch....I had booked the day before, as they do get very busy. When we arrived, there was no reserved table! Luckily there was space for us. I mentioned the great ravioli dish to my son and we both ordered it. My husband ordered veal with lemon and tagliatelle (I am sorry that I did not photograph these dishes as I forgot in my disappointment). My daughter-in-law ordered a mushroom waffle. The food always takes long to come - which we know, so we ordered tea and coffee and chatted while we waited for our food. This was on Sunday 11th Dec. 2016 When our food came, it did not look or taste like the last time, it was bland and tasted like nothing - ravioli in thickened milk sauce - my son and I were very disappointed!! The veal was dry and tough and had a bit of lemon on it and the whole presentation on the plate looked terrible. There was a bit of tagliatelle to one side and no sauce or anything. My husband took one taste and then another and pushed it to one side and said this is terrible, I cannot eat it. He did not eat anything else. The waitress said that the owner was not there, there was only a "learning to be manager". She offered us tea and coffee on the house (we already had this when we arrived). We said no thank you. They did not charge us for my husband's meal and the "Learner manager" came to apologize. We were so disappointed - a real downer on a Birthday occasion that should have been an enjoyable one. I have been meaning to go chat to the owner about this incident but I have not had a chance and time is marching on!

They have the best Belgium waffles I have ever eaten. The waffles are golden crispy with delicious toppings to pick from. Dutch apple or banana and caramel to name a few. They also make savoury waffles with bacon, egg and cheese and croquettes are also available.

Change of name - excellent food!

The name has changed to Paoletto - the food has improved and not only are the waffles out of this world, but they serve other food too. You can have lunch or breakfast- and have a waffle any hour of he day! I had a strawberry waffle - light and so so tasty! The banana waffle was great and the scrambled eggs and bacon a very big portion. The coffee true Italian style. Friendly waiters make everything great! We will be back!
