Every now and again I like to visit the beachfront here in Port Elizabeth. On Saturday the 11th of Jan 2020, I fetched my daughter and grand-children to take them for ice cream. We decided that Something Good Roadhouse would be the ideal place to visit. It was packed but we still managed to get a table. I decided that I would like a meal, and so did the rest except for my baby grand-daughter Kate, who just wanted ice cream. Well, we had a real treat. The food was great, service even though very busy was very good. We thoroughly enjoyed our time spent there.

We ate breakfast here, even though it was a busy Sunday morning we managed to find a table outside under the shade.the place has a nice vibe, lots of families , dog walkers etc. I had the breakfast burger which took a little while to arrive but nonetheless was tasty and very filling and great value for money. Staff friendly and helpful if a little bit chaotic but hurrying the food out to customers.
Plenty of parking in front of the beach . Nice breakfast pitstop

The quality of the food at SG has slowly deteriorated over the years.
When they first opened years ago they had the best burgers, served with real handcut potato chips, in town. Now they serve tasteless previously frozen chunks of chips with the quality of the beef patties leaving much to be desired.
Meals are generally over-priced and service is slow.
Tonight they were out of bottled still water…
Please, Management, if you read this, it’s time to overhaul your menu and focus on using good quality ingredients. This venue occupies the best spot in Gqeberha and should be top notch.

Unfortunate how it doesn't live up to the hype. There were only 3.125 patrons per waiting staff (implying it was empty) and I waited 11 minutes after seating myself before giving up and leaving. The roadhouse came highly recommended so decided to get a take-away pizza at least. This was strangely sweet and quite unpleasant.
(they get the second star simply because they were open and actually made the food)
Go here if you want to drink and you have buckets full of patience.

Hard working people but rather bad service: after we have been seated we had to wait 15 min. before we could order drinks; after another 12 min. they were delivered. After ordering our meals (burger and sandwiches) we waited 40 minutes; the burger was cold! Even asking for the bill took more then 20 min. I went to a p.o.s. machine; our waiter passed me several times without any action. A managerial mess! Leaving without paying was a realistic opportunity.

Disappointed again with this place. When menu says fresh avo and they bring store bought guacamole and then charge you the full price is sad without telling you at the time of your order that they are out of that ingredient. I keep going back here because of the setting but always leave disappointed.

My family and I decided to have breakfast at something good this morning.
We were escorted to our table and provided with our menu.
Upon looking through the menu deciding to what to drink and eat I noticed that 3 more tables came to have something to eat or drink.
Once they were seated and menu provided they were asked what they would like to drink. Shortly afterwards there drinks arrived and there food order were taken.
While this was going on we were not attended to at all.
The restaurant was not even at full capacity but we were left with no service.
I gathered up my family and left the restaurant.
Investing money into an establishment that can not even cover the basic restaurant code of ethics is a bad way to try and increase revenue

Worst service around, all waiters apathetic as well as the manager we complained too. When simple smoothies did arrive they were warm and tasted horrible. Never going back, not the first time I’ve been very let down by the lack of interest in the customer.

Something Good Roadhouse is noted for their ice cream cones. I have not had a meal here but it is always full with patrons. Our best is when we take a leisurely drive to the beach front on a Sunday afternoon, we always stop and have an ice cream.

Wow this is a roadhouse that not only can they really do impress. From the moment you walk in till you leave you are greeted by the friendly staff an believe me no fake smiles.
The food portions is big and super delicious, well prepared and seasoned.
Music that they play in nice and relaxing and most important in the background..
Will visit here again

Great informal place to eat. No reservations necessary. Good choice of food that should please most tastes. Live music on Saturday and Sunday evenings creates a convivial atmosphere. This place serves good food fare and service is really friendly too. Good beer is available on tap too (actually ale and stout at time of writing.)

Visited PE and the heard from friends that the local spot to be at for food and drinks is Something Good. Well, I do not understand why. Our experience was more like Something Awful. The restaurant was half empty and yet the food took long to arrive, and the service was poor. There is a sign saying wait to be seated, we waited at least 10 minutes before the staff bothered to help us. We waited and watched different waiters stand and chat at the bar, or stare at their phones. Then we get the food.. the chips are good, but the toasted sandwiches are dry and far overpriced. Why does a beachfront restaurant have so few seafood options? I dont know why people rave about this place. The servers are rude to you and each other (we watched a server chastise their coworker... on the floor.. very embarassing). We asked for a manager but never saw one... the waitress did apologise but after eating we just wanted to leave, so we got the bill and left. We will not be coming back here, and dont know why it is so highly recommended by locals. Maybe we went on a bad day...

Nice location, lots of parking. Went for breakfast. Wife had a nice brekkie, they got my order wrong but I decided to have it instead of waiting for new order. My mistake. Breakfast croissant was terrible. Old and chewy croissant.
Coffee was decent.
Tried to order more coffee but waiter forgot. Overall waiters seem uninterested and undertrained.
I am sure better restaurants are in the area so doubt I will be back and would recommend you look for somewhere else first before eating here.

I honestly lost my appetite as soon as I saw the foot long drenched is a split cheese sauce that did not taste good and mad the entire role soggy. I was so disappointed, it felt like an absolute waste of money, like it had been thrown together. I remember something good actually being good. But honestly would never order from there again

My family and I flew into Port Elizabeth early in the morning and wanted to have breakfast somewhere with a view of the ocean. Something good was excellent. Great location and great service! The surfers breakfast was just what we needed. Their cappuccinos were really good too. Service was prompt and friendly.
