First sampled in 2018, this corner cafe continues to serve good coffee and great food at very reasonable prices. We met an old friend here for breakfast; we all had their 'offer of the month' - scrambled eggs (perfect), bacon and ciabatta toast for R50. Vovo Telo is definitely our favourite "aunty" in PE.

We enjoyed a delicious early Father's Day breakfast at Vovotelo, sitting outside in the sun. We hadn't been there for ages so it was interesting to browse through the extensive menu. Something interesting for everyone! The French toast with caramelized bananas was generous and delicious. The smashed avo on toast and the chicken livers with a croissant looked good and tasted great. Good coffee and good service. We'll definitely be back

Nice new location for Vovo Telo. Service was very good with helpful and friendly staff. Only thing was the food prices which I thought were very high. So is it value for money -definately not. A plain chicken mayo toasted sandwich with NO extras was R95. Rather high priced, don't you think.

I used to visit this once vibrant restaurant and coffee venue regularly, for the great vibe, friendly service and delicious food. And so I was disappointed last week when I popped in for breakfast and ordered Avo on Toast. A single small piece of sour dough bread, with a very thinly spread layer of avo, for R45.00 odd, just does’nt cut it guys. As for the sparkling atmosphere, well something had changed. Hopefully my meal was not an indication of why!

A convenient location with a nice ambiance and simple menu. I found the prices to be unreasonably high. A toasted chicken mayo sandwich was R95 with NO sides. The medium cappuccino was R45. I thought these prices were very high in comparison to the equivalent ar other restaurants. Maybe a place for the very wealthy?

We arrived and waited about 10mins for our order to be taken. Not all that bad. Then then wait for the drinks was quite long, around 15 to 20 mins. We thought they might have forgotten our drinks. No one came to tell us it was busy, so we had to assume. The manager seemed very disinterested in actually helping and more interested in offloading work to the waiters. Once our coffee was finished and the empty cups stood on the table for around 15mins. I called the manager over and asked if we could order another round, and rather than just take the order, she wanted to call the waiter over. This struck me as odd, as the waiter was clearly busy and if the order had been taken, would have helped the waiter get back on track. The food was alright, not real complaints there. The atmosphere from a nice cozy bakery with coffee has been sadly lost. Although the waiter was friendly and did her best it still felt like we were a burden at the coffee shop. A more proactive approach from the manager might have made a big difference. Greeting the guests and checking in now and then makes a world of difference to customers.

The manager- Suzanne, absolutely disgusting behaviour. She shouted at waiter in front of customers, when I addressed her, she rolled her eyes and walked away whilst I was still talking. Poor leadership qualities and complete disregard of patrons and staff.

Service is non existent! We had to wait to be seated. Wait over 10min for tea and coffees. Wait to order food, wait for our food. Luckily I took my own food as they don’t cater for healthy vegan gluten free clients. The gluten free bread is like a door stop and completely inedible. And the cherry on the top for my absolute hate when going to restaurants is not being told what’s out of stock! What is the point of having items on the menu when they are not ever available - no infused tea silk bags or tea leaves. Such a disappointment and I will NEVER be going back. Absolutely shocking!

Ordered a macchiato, among other drinks and eats. Was brought a standard size cup of whatever, brimming with foam, clearly not a macchiato. Waitress argued that it was correct but took it back. Was then brought another whatever, in a clear glass but with condensed milk at the bottom. 2 wrong attempts is pretty poor. Ending up having a still water. Manageress, Suzanne, must be family as she obviously finds working on a Sunday morning very inconvenient

Set in a historic colonial bungalow, uber cool part of Port Elizabeth and in an area that is dotted with eateries and offices . My cousin had stated to me earlier that P.E has a lot of nice independent coffee cafes that rivals any city in the world and after my experience at Volvo Telo I definitely agree with her. The staff are very knowledgeable of their drinks and bakery selections. Service was superb and drinks we chose were excellent. It’s unfortunate I didn’t have enough time to explore the coffee scene of PE , Vovo Telo did represent the best of PE but will be back next time. It’s a place I recommend and wish I could lift it up and place in Reading or Berkshire. By the way I loved their doorstop as well.

Vovo Telo has a lovely setting in a house, and is a great spot for breakfast. But it is a bit confusing as to whether you have to go to the counter to be served, or if a waitress will take the order. Service was very slow, but the food was great! I bought a Smoked Salmon Quiche to take away, and it was very nice!

Popped in for a coffee and it was - as usual fabulous. I think that the coffee here is of the best. Well made and just the right temperature. Tried their strawberry tart which is decadent and delicious. Well done Vovo - continues to be good !

I was at Vovotelo on the 22 July 2023. I was offered a table but I stood there for more than 30 minutes without being attended. Waiter and waitresses went past me so many times. Only when we was leaving, one waiter offered to attend to me. I’m disappointed as I have been their regular since their days in Richmond Hill. Well I guess I won’t visit again

Poor service. Waited 20 minutes to be served. Ordered a coffee before our meal. That took 20 minutes to arrive, so we decided to go elsewhere for lunch. Not impressed with cheap chairs and tables, artwork on the walls... disappointing after the charm of the previous venue. No atmosphere... won't be back.

Great place, great food. Great location all around. A tourist area. Great Coffee goes a long way.. Having to be looking for a place to unwind after a long drive into a new town hungry and looking for a place to rest I decided to have a sit @ Vovo Telo bakery & Cafe. I had an unforgettable experience with from the waiters to the food everyone and everything was a great experience. A place I would recommend for good food and service.
