We were treated to friendly staff and an excellent waitress, Jean, who is an expert on the menu and reading her diner's appetite. Her friendly and humorous personality was a welcome addition to the delicous seafood and sushi platter we shared as a family of...4. Thank you Jean and The Fat Fish for an exceptional meal, great service and delightful atmosphere. LisaMore

Absolutely amazing! We could only get a very late reservation (we only called them late afternoon), but we were treated exceptionally well from the minute we arrived, which was an hour prior to our reservation. We were offered very nice seats at the bar and...we started our drinks there. The bartenders were lovely and kept us entertained with the creative cocktails they made with great care. We certainly got seated much earlier than what we were expecting. I had the hake&calamari combo and my husband the fish curry. We were both blown away. We were checked on often and were extremely delighted. My husband even said it is the best curry he has ever had (and he is a true fanatic). I would go back any time.More

Came here for a quick lunch which ended up to take more than 1:30 h due to slow staff and kitchen. Other customers that ordered after us received their food first. Staff apologized somewhat but was not really making up for it. Also they got...one dish wrong of an easy order. COVID-19 rules are also not followed or cared for and bathrooms should be serviced more frequent, they looked terrible. A place that just takes the cash of tourists and visitors due to its location. Food was ok, but not excellent. I cannot recommend.More

Four of us visited the Fat Fish which is one of our favourite restaurants in Plettenberg Bay. The downside is that it is on the first floor with an open staircase and no elevator. The service and food were good and there is a nice...wine list. Unfortunately, the items our guests ordered were not available so they had gannet. I thought a gannet was a bird, but it seems that it is also a fish! Our guests thought it was average. My wife and I, as usual, had prawns, which were superb. TonyCMore

Three plus points are the position, opening times (one of the few serving on Sunday) and the light modern decor. We have visited twice during this stay and not been disappointed. Certainly one of the more sophisticated restaurants in Plett under the wing of Barrington’s...owners. Menu more experimental than most with Burmese Seafood and Harissa dishes both of which we enjoyed plus mussels in a delicious sauce.More

As a family we were looking forward to a seafood evening, after a full day on the beach, and seeing a good rating on trip advisor for the restaurant. We ordered the seafood platter for 2 and the kids ordered sushi. The platter’s prawns wasn’t...deveined, fish was overcooked and our kids sushi was delivered 10min after our main meal arrived. It was an expensive meal and my opinion overpriced and poor quality. Very disappointedMore
