During our trip to Plettenbergbaai we went here for breakfast because we were advised to do so by a local. The food is delicous and very affordable! Me and my boyfriend each already tried 4 different breakfast/lunch options and they were all very tasty. Also the waitresses are very nice and the atmosphere is amazing, a complete relaxing feeling, especially with the cute farm animals around. I would definitely recommend this place for coffee/breakfast/lunch!

Our first visit to the Roadside Cafe and what a delight. Rustic rural setting with open sided restaurant and lots of shaded outside seating, forest bark on the ground and the odd chicken scratching around. It is set amongst an outside ‘complex’ including a Plant Nursery with engaging lady running it, including her adorable free ranging sausage dog, a selection of small animal enclosures (baby chickens, baby ducks, pigs, goats, Guinea pigs) and children’s activity and painting area. The menu is extensive with numerous all day breakfasts and lunch choices. On top of which there are daily specials. We both chose Chicken Gyros with chips and salad. Very authentic flat breads with generous filling, delicious fresh Tzatziki and more than enough tender chicken. French style stringy chips and fresh salad topped off with their own bottled salad dressing to taste. Absolutely among the best Gyros we have had and up with the best in Greece. We had flat whites and latte coffees which were excellent. Self served iced water on tap. The service was very attentive and fast despite being a busy Sunday lunchtime here in Plett. We met Debbie the Manager who happily stopped to talk and answered all our questions we had but otherwise positively buzzes around the tables making sure all her customers have what they want and are happy. A relatively small kitchen but with 7 people working in it really deliver beautifully cooked and presented fresh food. It is obvious the whole team really care what they are doing here. We cannot wait to return to explore more of the menu. Having spent 3 weeks on holiday in Plett this is Rand for Rand the best restaurant we have eaten in. Highly recommend it.

We first came across this restaurant on holiday in 2021 and returning in 2023 we have eaten here numerous times as it is our all round favourite restaurant in fabulous Plett. It’s a rustic style restaurant in a rural setting with plenty of on-site parking. We have had assorted breakfasts and lunches chosen from their extensive menu and never been disappointed. All food is freshly cooked to order and with very charming service and speed delivery at all times. The various flat breads and wraps are particularly good as is the deep fried Calamari. Most dishes come with salad or fries or both. If you choose both, the portions are still more than adequate. There is an extensive outside seating area, shaded from the sun, and also an enclosed area for colder days. A small plant nursery is attached and a Children’s animal area with, rabbits, pigs, hens, goats and a beautiful Jersey (or is it a Guernsey?) cow that loves to be fed hay. Not to be missed if you are in this neck of the woods! Not to be missed if you are in this neck of the woods.

It's a lovely place! The 'thunderthighs' rooster! Well kept nursery surrounds the somewhat rustic restaurant. The service is always a bit muddly. Someone takes your order. Later another person comes to see if you have ordered. If you go to the counter to pay, get a takeaway cheesecake, and ask for a doggy bag it somehow involves more than three people (one of whom has to go somewhere else to get cheesecake) sort of under each other's feet before you get out of there. Perhaps the till should have an hostess and her only job is to ensure smooth progress for customers. I ordered fish and chips. The chips were skinny cut, dry, sprinkled with an herb (I think mint). The fish was ok. The tartare sauce arrived quite a while after the fish. I didn't like it. It didn't taste like fresh mayonnaise based - there was an undertaste. Staff were friendly. I love their hash brown hollandaise sauce breakfasts!. I'll definitely go again, but not for fish and chips.

Make sure that you ask for a warm meal. All breakfasts are coming cold without any apologies from the owner. Sad story. We walked there for breakfast and I walked back home to make my own. Disappointed

What was supposed to be a good brunch with friends turned out to be the most horrible experience that I’ve experienced at any establishment, waiters were rude and served us with no smile or sense of humour, management didn’t take our complaints seriously, 4 waiters served one table and all had an horrible attitude, food were cold when it eventually got to us. Left a bitter taste in my mouth and I will definitely never set foot there again. Just my 2c :)

One of the best outdoor venues in Plettenburg Bay. Go any day of the week and you get a friendly smile and a fabulous menu at very reasonable prices. Have been before but this Sunday booked for a Sunday lunch. Starter Panko crumbed praws,Main Carvery of roast lamb/pork/chicken/veg/potato, Dessert creme brulee. Note there were other choices as well. Very little waiting time, don't know how this lady does it!

After an hour of surfing on Plettenberg Bay Beach, stopping at this wonderful cafe/restaurant in the countryside was a wonderful experience. The entire staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. In addition to a large selection of delicious food (best carrot cake and lemon meringue ever!!), the restaurant offers a wonderful ambience in the middle of small huts (artistic activities, souvenir shop, etc.) and a lively fauna and flora. Highly recommended!!!

Best dessert so far in South Africa. A paradise for anyone with a sweet tooth. But everything else on the menu looks really delicious (we also had the butter chicken - really delicious!) But the cakes are really unbeatable. There is a playground and a small "petting zoo" for children (you can also feed the animals). Art and crafts are on display for sale in small huts. You could even take a group course on working with clay on site (but you would have to register in advance). It's like a small village with really beautiful flowers and very friendly staff. I can recommend it to everyone!!

Sunday lunch high season and venue largely empty? As locals we go regularly as it’s a firm favourite but we’ve avoided recently as we’ve been advised the service has slipped which, was our experience today. If there was management on site they kept themselves very inconspicuous. But, once we’d managed to order the food arrived hot, together and quite tasty. Kitchen (& waitron staff) shouting at one another not pleasant.

Since my 'coming back' to the Western Cape, I quite often visit and eat here (either solo or with family)and the food is always good. The service varies, but is usually quite good. Very popular so the parking can be 'taken up'. There are a number of small business, a plant nursery and various farm animals on the property

What a great find on the outskirts of Plettenberg. The service was great and the seating outside was a delight. The menu was very comprehensive and the quality of the food was excellent. The service was also first class and we would thoroughly recommend visiting if you want a relaxed lunch in a beautiful location.

Gorgeous rustic setting , nestled between the Clay cafe ( great for those wanting to paint potter) a nursery , a pond with roaming geese and horses. Wonderful for the entire family. Peaceful and tranquil. The breakfasts were average and well priced but may I suggest the kitchen focus on rustic, hearty cuisine. The ALl breakfast didnt disappoint - it was man size and had it all but the Hash brown eggs Benedict fell short,. This dish was edible but definitely not a star dish. The requested soft poached eggs were hard and the sauce was neither delicate nor memorable. However I will be back ........ because staff were friendly and efficient, cleanliness of tables upheld , the setting gorgeous and I will order something simpler which I am sure will not disappoint .

My new favourite go to eatery. Food is fresh and tasty. The menu is extensive and very reasonably priced, portions are enormous. Service is very friendly, it can be a little slow when busy. So nice to be gazing out on horses and lovely scenery. Has a very relaxed, congenial atmosphere, very unpretentious which is refreshing. Such a pity that you aren't open for dinner. Closes at 4.
