Despite the mixed reviews we’ve seen online, we decided to visit Moby’s Plettenberg Bay a year a previous visit.
To our surprise, the service was excellent. Our waiters were attentive and helpful throughout our meal.
We ordered the prawn special, which was a great value for the price. The prawns were cooked to perfection and well-presented. Garden salad also delicious.
Overall, Moby’s Plettenberg Bay is a great place to eat. The location on Central Beach offers stunning views, and if you’re looking for a simple beachfront dining experience, it’s definitely worth a visit.

My wife and I ate here recently and enjoyed the excellent and very friendly service provided by Desmond and Shaun. The food was very tasty, with the grilled Calimari and caught line fish particularly good. The tartar sauce, which was homemade was also really tasty.

This is a good restaurant for a casual off the beach seafood but would not recommend any expensive meals. The view is amazing and right on the beach. Unfortunately this experience left me with a bad taste as when the bill came I had been charged for tap water to go with my lime cordial. As I am pregnant I can't drink alcohol nor can I stomach fizzy drinks. This should be changed as it just feels cheap to charge for water...

We went to Moby’s last evening and enjoyed the special drinks options which were delicious. The staff, especially Gift went was incredibly helpful, friendly, intelligent and professional. The food was fantastic yet sensibly priced. The new owner (only three weeks in) was hands on in making sure everything was perfect for all of us diners. The view over the sea provided our entertainment with a pod of dolphins performing for us as we are. All in all I can thoroughly recommend this great newly managed restaurant and we shall be returning often!

I went to Moby’s to celebrate my mother’s birthday and I am so grateful for the service we received at the restaurant especially from Rushaun Grootboom,Gift and Happy. I will definitely be coming back soon. Thank you for making the evening extra special. (once again a special shoutout to Rushaun!)

Excellent service! They kindly exchanged my fish that i had ordered grilled thinking it would be safe for me as a celiac. It came with sime flour batter so i asked if its possible to change for plain grilled fish which they did. Very kind. Also very nice waitress! And good fish!

Popped in for a late lunch snack and glass of wine. We shared a delicious pizza, thin crust, excellent. A couple drinks, sat upstairs with great view over the ocean watching dolphins playing.
Lovely and efficient service.
If we lived here, would definitely pop in frequently, I just wish we were more hungry to try more food as all dishes coming out of the kitchen looked delicious!

Advertised locally offered what we understood to be an amazing prawn offer. Huge prawns that you can order as many as you like. Called ahead for price as omitted from advertisement and told R30 per prawn. Arrived to discover that not actually the case but R30 for Thursday offer only for six basically medium sized prawns - each.
Disappointed as locals wanted to support local business.
Staff very excited they could close early due to load shedding.
Nice view over central beach.

Perception and misunderstanding with regards social media advertising is often a concern.
We take note of the need for more waiter training with regards our specials when communicating verbally.

It’s really busy in Plett now and to find a restaurant that is welcoming, has well trained staff and serves delicious food in good time, is rare. We loved the Seafood Espetada and our ice cold drinks. Loved the stunning view and left very happy. Thanks Mibys

We piled into this fab beach restaurant after swimming with seals and had a great experience. We sat in the open window, ordered huge platters of fish and seafood snd a carafe of wine. My skewers came on a huge veritical spike - so brilliantly presented - and service was excellent. We were lucky we were early because ten minutes after we arrived it was rammed and there was a queue. What a little gem!

Been coming to Plett for years and was always a bit disappointed with Mobys - seemed to be trading on its location. But since the refurb it 100% better. Still has great views but now also has great food and wide selection of top craft beers. Would definitely recommend this place now

I visited Moby's on several occasions because of the fantastic seaviews. The downstairs interior has a great vibe and cosy atmosphere and the staff are very friendly. The upstair terrace is a bit more rustic. The food is good for the price but the best part about this dining experience is drinking fantastic South African wine whilst watching dolphins, which were present each time we visited. I have very fond memories of the place.

We cane the first time and was served by Tracey - amazing waiter and very good service. When we returned we were served by Primrose and she was just as fantastic. These ladies makes your business so unique and definitely one for the books. We will definitely visit every time we are down here for a holiday. They make you wish that you resided here permanently so that you can come here every week and enjoy their great service. The food was also magnificent. Not even disappointed once!!!! Well done guys

The waiter was semi-friendly and we had to wait about one hour - but in the end it was the food which made our stay truly awful.
The chips where cold and mushy without any salt on it, calamari the same.
Even the steak (in Africa) we ordered was far from being enjoyable...

We are regular customers and liked the cosy atmosphere and the delicious seafood for a good price. Rather disappointed were we the last time, not in the food, which was even better and at a very good price, but because of the renovations. For me the grey seemed cold and I felt uncomfortable, where the fireplace used to be, are now wine racks and I really missed some warmer colours. i am sad because of this. The food and service is still great though, but on a cold night, I will look for something more cosy or stay home.

We too had many debates on whether to go ahead with the “ new look”.
To keep up with the new trends being followed,we decided to go ahead.
Many of us were also sad to see the “ old”. Mobys being left in the passed.
We do still have a warm and friendly team though
