We went to this restaurant in February this year on our visit to South Africa. We went with three other couples who live in Plattenbhurg so they recommended this restaurant and took us there. Let’s just say we were not disappointed, the quality of the...food, and the drinks actually, were 2nd to none and the price just made it even better!! Stunning restaurant, beautiful setting and gardens with lovely outdoor space, highly recommend this place, just hope we can return again one day as we reside in the UK, unfortunately lolMore

A lovely modern venue with great craft beers. We had been before and enjoyed it, While the hamburgers come at a hefty price R 190 they are of good quality and tasty, Unfortunately the restaurant tries to add on charges for condiments, which, in normal...restaurants inRSA ,are not charged for , ie we were charged R 10 for chilli!More

Lovely food and beautiful building. My wife is vegetarian and there are plenty of options for her. I had the chicken burger and was very good!

Great seating in the presence of solid wood built restaurant. Very friendly staff. We had eggs Benedict cocked to perfection with incredible creamy spinach. Great coffee and a perfect espresso. Great local wine selection and beer selection/tasting (for later) We loved the organic garden!

The visit to the restaurant was great! We were even given a spontaneous tour of the brewery by the master brewer! There is a beer tasting, which consists of 4 or 5 beers. The staff were also very friendly! We can recommend this spot!

This is a great find and a refreshing change from the endless vineyards. We had a great lunch here and then returned for breakfast. We really liked the lunch here but the breakfast slotted in as the best we have had in the last 20...days in SA. So much tastier than anywhere else. The ranch style openness and vegetable garden make for a very relaxed chilled environment. The menu disclosed a connection with "The Fat Fish". We have dined at two of their restaurants and we would praise them too. Whoever has created these venues knows how to create a pleasant setting, great ambiance and delicious food. Full marks! PS Great craft beer too!More

Steaks arrived cold. Had to shout to get waiters attention. They had another go and this time the steaks were medium well. We decided to accept it as we didn’t want to be there all night. Not quite what we would have expected.

Great place for breakfast, lunch and/or dinner! We experienced all three in Barrington's and enjoyed each one. The service is attentive, food quality great and the large restaurant is not right in the city centre so it has a lovely atmosphere and plenty (free) parking...right in front. The surrounding garden is immaculate and I recommend to include this place on your to visit list during your stay in Plettenberg BayMore

While staying at The Bungalow Hotel staff suggested The Barrington Restaurant as a wonderful dining experience. And were they ever right!! This is a fantastic restaurant with awesome selections. The space is gorgeous and can be considered upscale casual with an incredible wine selection as...well as a shop attached that sells local wines and other items. We had a reservation as likely getting into this restaurant is more complicated as it is so great. I’d highly recommend as many times as you can ! Food and serving staff terrific !! Will definitely be back next time in Plett!!More

This was not the first time that my wife and I have eaten at this restaurant. We both thought that the service was very good and we had sharing plates as our main course which were okay. The only thing that ruined it for us...was it for elderly people at the table behind us, who were fully 3 m away from us. Apparently had supersonic hearing and complained when my wife was on her mobile phone to our daughter who had not spoken to her mother for over two weeks.. This was obviously no fault of the Resaurant, but it makes you wonder why people go out for a meal if they are going to complain about others in this way!More

This is a fabulous restaurant. The setting is so relaxed and beautiful. We have been many times and on this holiday we have had an evening meal and also breakfast. The service both visits was exceptional in particular Lulu and Andiswa.

We had a lovely lunch here a few days ago. Fish and chips and the lamb curry were delicious and so were the starter portions I had of steak tartare and the prawns. Gorgeous setting and very attentive staff made this a memorable experience for...us.More

We had a very negative experience at this restaurant. We had made a booking on the website (no pop up to say bookings not taken in season) and arrived for supper. Grandparents, parents and adolescent boys. When my daughter in law gave her name for...the booking she was told there was no booking. She was not told at this point that bookings were not taken in season - just told there was no booking. She replied that she had booked on the website and was told she could not have done so - no explanation. We were understandably confused and she showed her booking confirmation on her phone. She was then told that the booking was for 17/1 - the next available date on the website .... Finally, she was told that this was the way the website worked - extraordinary in our minds. This situation was incredibly badly handled by the staff who were very, very unprofessional in their dealings with us. The whole situation degenerated into a shouting match between the front of house man (and another young man who was called in to "manage" us) and my son. We have travelled extensively and have never, ever, experienced such a shocking situation. We got the distinct impression that they couldn't have cared less about customer relations. Had the front of house man, right at the beginning, explained the situation and offered us a drink while we waited and he found out whether he could accommodate us, an entirely different scenario would have played out. Disappointing in the extreme. We will never go to this restaurant again when we visit Plettenberg Bay. I contacted the restaurant by email to report our experience; I have never received a reply.More
