Visited Nguni on a Saturday night on recent break to Plett. Very quiet (in fact was only diner at the time!) but the intimate surroundings and friendly waiter service made it feel like a private dining service!! Special of the day was a Ribeye steak that was cooked to perfection and balanced up the mass of fish I had been... More

Down on business in Plett, had an outstanding meal at Nguni Restaurant. Owner & Staff were warm and welcoming, served a superb meal. I had Bobotie Spring Rolls and a delicious Lamb Curry as It was a rather cold and rainy night. Went back the next day for the best thick piece of fresh Grilled Cob ever that had just... More

Not far from Aquavit where we were staying, which was handy. Restaurant was fairly quiet when we visited, but wonderful just the same. Food was first class, and the service excellent.

My dinner at Nguni was one of the best meals I had in South Africa. Being the first guest on a chilly night, I was seated by the wood stove. I particularly appreciated this as solo diners are seldom given the best spot. The decor was lovely with everything in black and white. The menu had a good range of... More

Plettenberg Bay is not the place one would expect to find such an outstanding restaurant. I travel a lot on business, so eating out at a good restaurant is not something that gets me very excited. Nguni did. It was perfect. The design is clean and original without being a cliche. The service was proffessional and amicable without being disruptive.... More

Altough "no sea view" like many others in Plett, worthwile a visit. Menu features a few dishes whitch you don't find in other restaurants in Plett. Nice athmosphere, food is not outstanding but ok.

Nguni Restaurant
Nostalgic with an African flair, Nguni is located in one of Plett's oldest buildings - an original dairy dating back over a hundred years. Nguni's African menu is a reflection of traditional selections like Bobotie, game, biltong, springbok, Karoo lamb, ostrich and other local favourites. With its beautiful sunny veranda or eclectic African interior with its original wood-burning stove, the Nguni Girls provide customers with a unique setting and superb menu. A true taste of the Cape!
