A bit overrated, the inside salon is stuffy (as in no oxygen) and the patio is a bit ordinary. Waiters are top-notch, and food is a bit plain.

A charming little restaurant in the middle of Plettenberg, in one of the oldest original buildings in the town. Small number of tables, very nice decor and the food was really good and good value. The staff were helpful and efficient. Upmarket, recommended.

Nguni has seating inside or outside - next door to a small theatre. The staff are delightful and attentive without being intrusive. When we were there we could sit outside which was very pleasant. The choice on the menu is fairly small which is a good sign that ingredients will be fresh and prepared to a high standard. We were... More

My husband and I together with two friends visited Plettenberg Bay in January 2012. We had the opportunity to choose different restaurants every evening but came to the conclusion that Nguni was the best. The environment, the service and of course the food was top class. Hope to come back one day.

Visited Nguni on a Saturday night on recent break to Plett. Very quiet (in fact was only diner at the time!) but the intimate surroundings and friendly waiter service made it feel like a private dining service!! Special of the day was a Ribeye steak that was cooked to perfection and balanced up the mass of fish I had been... More

Down on business in Plett, had an outstanding meal at Nguni Restaurant. Owner & Staff were warm and welcoming, served a superb meal. I had Bobotie Spring Rolls and a delicious Lamb Curry as It was a rather cold and rainy night. Went back the next day for the best thick piece of fresh Grilled Cob ever that had just... More

Description
Nguni Restaurant
Nostalgic with an African flair, Nguni is located in one of Plett's oldest buildings - an original dairy dating back over a hundred years. Nguni's African menu is a reflection of traditional selections like Bobotie, game, biltong, springbok, Karoo lamb, ostrich and other local favourites. With its beautiful sunny veranda or eclectic African interior with its original wood-burning stove, the Nguni Girls provide customers with a unique setting and superb menu. A true taste of the Cape!
