not quite 5 of 5 because the food didn't seem refined or sophisticated, which we expected given the prices (relatively high for Plett and South Africa) and the atmosphere. The food was very decent, though. Full of flavor and good portions.

Managed to get in to this place for dinner one night. They couldn't find our reservation but still made room for us. The ostrich fillet was the best meal I've had in South Africa. Service was fantastic. Wine list was extensive. Vibe was upscale. Overall...More

Had dinner at Nguni while staying in Plettenberg and enjoyed it so much we went back the following week. Really enjoyed the Bobotie Spring Rolls and the Springbok Loin was amazing. Will definitely be back.

Going to Nguni Restaurant, one is cordially greeted in the low, quaint entrance: this is, after all, one of Plett's oldest buildings! Seating at Nguni is inside or outside, as one prefers. In winter it is cosy inside. Meals are of a better quality and...More

Great food in a cosy corner (suspect it's nicer outside but it was a rainy August night so we sat by the fire)

We really enjoyed our dinner at Nguni. We chooses the starters like tuna carpaccio and root beet goat cheese salad. Very good. After that we enjoyed our steaks. Finishing touch with the Nguni Mess. Perfectly.

Nguni Restaurant Nostalgic with an African flair, Nguni is located in one of Plett's oldest buildings - an original dairy dating back over a hundred years. Nguni's African menu is a reflection of traditional selections like Bobotie, game, biltong, springbok, Karoo lamb, ostrich and other local favourites. With its beautiful sunny veranda or eclectic African interior with its original wood-burning stove, the Nguni Girls provide customers with a unique setting and superb menu. A true taste of the Cape!
