8/2/17 South African style restaurant. It is situated in the commercial center of The Plett on a side street with parking in the front. It is a cosy, not to big place, without a view. Staff very efficient and smiling. Dishes of good quality. Can be recommended.

The atmosphere was very decadent. We did't have the right clotches on, so ... Ok, we could have our diner there. We had no starter, onlay the mean menu. It was nice. That's all. We found the waiter and his staff rather stiff. My advice: put on your nicest clothes and a big smile. We only are traveling through Z.Afrika... More

The food at Nguni was really nice, with very good service. We had the tuna carpaccio and the Nguni beef, perfectly cooked. Make sure to get a table outside.

Recommended by hotel. Had babooite spring rolls, and ostrich and two desserts, plus wine and coffee. Fabulous meal for about £40. Although branded as authentic , noticeable all clientele were white served by local people. Good night very good food food and very enjoyable.

We visited the restaurant for the first time and were very surprised of the quality (in a good way). Fresh fish and meat, all served to perfection. Friendly service. An address we will certainly recommend

Nice atmosphere, interesting deco with cows made of chicken wire. Pleasant service and good fresh food. My wife had a steak for her main course which excellent, very tender and tasty. Will probably go back there so that must be a good sign.

Pleasant and sheltered setting. It is difficult to rate the food as I only visited once. I know I ordered a pricy medium ribeye which had the same texture and taste as a medium/well dry-ish sirloin steak. However: my wife enjoyed her fish so I wrote my lunch off as an abberation and an excellent opportunity to improve my cholesterol... More

Last meal from our trip to Plett and we expecting something special. Whilst the old building was interesting and the food/service very nice this didn't come over as significantly better than other restaurants in the town - and the fake grass on the walls was a little odd. Certainly worth visiting if you're nearby.

Description
Nguni Restaurant
Nostalgic with an African flair, Nguni is located in one of Plett's oldest buildings - an original dairy dating back over a hundred years. Nguni's African menu is a reflection of traditional selections like Bobotie, game, biltong, springbok, Karoo lamb, ostrich and other local favourites. With its beautiful sunny veranda or eclectic African interior with its original wood-burning stove, the Nguni Girls provide customers with a unique setting and superb menu. A true taste of the Cape!
