We visit Plett in March every year and have been regular patrons of this establishment. Last year we were most dissatisfied with our steak meal and made this clear to management who did not seem particularly concerned. We decided never to return however this year we felt that we would give this place another chance. Big mistake !!! After three... More

Highly recommended restaurant. Make sure you book in advance. You must order the babotie samoosas. An interesting combination of flavours. The tuna carpaccio is great too. Make sure you order line fish.

We loved it so much we ate here twice. We had the same fantastic waiter each time - Danny. Thank you Danny for making our experience such a good one. The food was great - I had the best ostrich steak here. Cooked to perfection and a delicious sauce with it. The panna cotta dessert was lovely and presented beautifully.... More

This is billed as an “African” restaurant, and we thought we would try it this trip. Well, the décor is fairly African, but the menu seemed pretty standard South African fare to us, so we enquired. Apparently the presence of game (Kudu and Ostrich that evening) made the difference. Go figure? Anyway, the food we (group of four) ate was... More

Lovely surroundings, welcoming atmosphere. Very good food, touch expensive. Simple, but varied menu with good service. Midweek, looked nearly full, not noisy though, good sign, discerning clientele?

We stayed in a local guest house and the owner recommended it to us and booked the last table. How lucky we were. It was a lovely restaurant and busy too. The meal was superb, great atmosphere and a snip at £40 with wine.

We came here spontaniously in bathing shorts on our road trip. All other people were clothed more fancy. Even though we got our table and enjoyed great steaks (ostrich / springbok) and delicious spring rolls. Staff was very nice.

We had eaten at Nguni several years ago and felt it average at best. But based on new Trip Advisor reviews and being unable to get reservations into our first choices we opted to give it one more try. It was one of our most expensive meals during our 6 weeks touring South Africa and also one we least enjoyed.... More

Description
Nguni Restaurant
Nostalgic with an African flair, Nguni is located in one of Plett's oldest buildings - an original dairy dating back over a hundred years. Nguni's African menu is a reflection of traditional selections like Bobotie, game, biltong, springbok, Karoo lamb, ostrich and other local favourites. With its beautiful sunny veranda or eclectic African interior with its original wood-burning stove, the Nguni Girls provide customers with a unique setting and superb menu. A true taste of the Cape!
