We had the lunch special. I had a very nice lamb curry. The meat was a little tough, but the sauce and the accompaniments very very good. Unfortunately my wife's ribs were just average, obviously not freshly made, but ok. Service very friendly. However the...food was good value as it was a lunchtime special. I would give 3 1/2 stars if possible.More

A more formal restaurant inside which we choose but also offering outside dinning. Very good attentive service. My first try of Kudu was disappointing as very tough and my grievance fell on deaf ears. Unfortunate as the Ostrich steak my wife ordered was excellent as...was the rest of the meal.More

We visited on Friday afternoon for lunch. We made reservations but it didn’t seem they expected us at all (based on the look of the staff’s faces). We could choose our own table (I like that), but we were the only ones so the place...looked a bit desolated. It seems to be busy in the evenings though. The menu has great local cuisine choices so I was really looking forward to our meal! We enjoyed the bobotie spring rolls with prune chutney very much as a starter. The tuna carpaccio was also nice but we could only eat it after 10 minutes because half of it was still frozen… On to the main courses. The steaks were good (sirloin and kudu), but they were cooked too long so my rare steak was more medium rare. But still enjoyable, so no need to bother the kitchen with this. The chimichurri sauce that accompanied the steak was way to sour for the meat. It didn’t match at all, so I used it for the side salad instead (that I fortunately could order instead of the potatoes, I like that as well). The sriracha mayo that my partner choose for his sirloin was good. We shared the campari orange almond tart which was small and a bit bland. It didn’t justify the quite steep price of 78R at all. All and all a nice meal, but with a bottle of Diemersdal Pinotage (268R compared to 99R at Woolies) 1128 Rand was a bit too much in my opinion. I think I can get a better meal for this amount of money somewhere else in the Western Cape. Maybe better to try in the evening and choose our courses differently.More

Excellent food and excellent service! Lovely place to have some dinner at and the staff were very helpful and accommodating with my two year old daughter. Please make sure to try the Bobotie spring rolls and the steak (we did the chimmichuri sauce and was...very yummy) Seriously fantastic! Panna Cotta was also very very good and worth noting. Would very happily visit again. Note that the bathroom doesn’t have a changing table for smaller babies.More

Brilliant restaurant with excellent seafood and an unique staff. Also the wine recolonisation suits perfectly. We’ll come back.

Nguni is truly a hidden gem in Plett. Such a cosy restaurant and the food doesn’t take long. We wanted the full experience so we had all 3 courses. The Bobotie starter was lovely and their chutney was delicious. The ribeye and the sirloin on...the bone were prepared very well. The kids had the brownie dessert which was not too sweet and topped off the meal nicely… I will definitely be back here again.More

We felt like steak and did not want to be disappointed. We had lamb curry, steak with salsa verde sauce (YUM) and deep fried Camembert for desert (which could have been a bit bigger). Everything was perfect, from the relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, to quality,...to service. It’s also acceptably priced and portions are good. Very happy experience, thank you!More

We visited Nguni restaurant twice during our stay Best food in Plettenberg Bay hands down. The ambiance and service faultlessly executed by Robert. The fish tasted like it came straight from the ocean OUTSTANDING. The steaks were melt in the mouth tender and the ostrich...perfectly executed. The prawns were sublime crispy fresh and delicious.
