Rather disappointing, after reading previous reviews we booked. We had the salmon and at R 299 the portion size was so very small and left me hungry, The Filet was of good quality but the Cajun wedges were oily and soggy. We ask for some...chilli and were charged an extra of 10 bucks . I would not recommend the restaurant and won’t go again when I am in Plettenberg the next timeMore

Delicious food as usual. I had a surf & turf burger and it was amazing. And my wife had the tuna salad bowl which she enjoyed thoroughly.

We had a table booked for 7:30pm on Saturday evening 24th Feb. The place was busy but we were seated immediately and given menus. The menus are in great need of replacing as they are worn out and I can't help but wonder about the...germ count on laminated plastic that has clearly been handled way too many times. Anyhow, we chose our drinks and waited to order. And waited. And waited. All waiters very skilled at avoiding our eyes and then ignoring our hands in the air and even managed to not see me waving my white napkin in the air. I freely admit my pet hate in any restaurant is not to be offered a drink upon arrival. If I've got a drink in my hand I'm happy to peruse the menu and chat with my friends. In fairness the waiters were flat out and I'd say they need to employ at least 3 more. So, I got up and went to ask the old crone on the door if we could please have some waiter service as we had now been seated for the best part of 15 minutes. And she shouted at me to have some patience!!!!! I felt like telling her to have some manners and customer service wouldn't go amiss. So, lo and behold a harassed looking waiter appeared and took our drinks orders. And we ordered our food. Starters came out very fast. I had a deep fried prawn donated by my husband and it was edible. Main courses arrived. Oh dear me. I'd ordered a chicken and prawn skewer and the most unappetising plate of food arrived. I don't actually know how it was cooked but I suspect it was deep fried and then covered in a dreadful sticky substance (I wouldn't flatter it by calling it a sauce) and I thought maybe it doesn't taste as bad as it looks. Funnily enough it was worse than it looked which I'd have thought was nigh on impossible. I sent it away and they took it off the bill. My husband had the burger which he declared just about edible and gave it a 5 out of 10 marking. For the couple we were with, he declared his starter and main were very nice but he never complains about anything. And his wife had her main course wrapped in a box to give to the security guards when we got home. Not sure what they'd done to deserve it but I hope they're okay. I will just add and it's a little bit mean but there was a live entertainer singing and playing guitar. Never heard anything like it and not in a good way!! All in all, a truly dreadful experience. The elderly straggly grey haired female on the front door shouldn't be in the position she is. I will never go back there as long as I live. There are so many amazing restaurants in Plettenberg Bay and this one is letting down the hospitality sector.More

We visited one evening and arrived late not knowing they closed early. However, they were accommodating and unlike other reviewers state, nothing but polite and friendly. We sat on the patio and had an outstanding meal. I had Kingklip and my wife had prawns both...of which were well prepared and delicious. Service w as quick and friendly and I would recommend it highly. Have a Dom Pedro!More

We arrived and hadn’t made reservations. I have been here many times over the years for dinner and always had a great experience. Tonight the grumpy old woman at the desk said they were busy and not taking any more guests. There was an empty...table in the bar so we sat down to only have a drink. The waitress brought us menu’s and about that time the old grumpy woman came over and rudely said I told you it would be over an hour for dinner. I informed her I didn’t request the menu’s and she started to argue with me about us sitting in the bar. I asked to see the manager and she said she was the manager. If she is, she definitely needs to learn customer service and not be such a downer. I am hoping this review will reach the correct people and this “manager” will learn how to treat loyal paying customers.More

A calamity of a night, almost worth it for the story of how bad a restaurant could be. I wasn’t going to write this up but saw another review saying something similar and can only hope that the management read this. We were served by...a waiter who was rushed off his feet. We asked to change our order 90 seconds after ordering and he said he couldn’t as he was too scared of the owner who is also the chef. The second waitress confirmed it would be too scary to ask to change the order. Our waiter said he would be fired if he asked. We accepted this. We then waited over an hour for our food. When we asked to check how long it would be, again our waiter was too scared to ask. We said we would ask the chef. She fired our waiter on the spot. We couldn’t eat our meal - it was by this point overcooked and like rubber. The fault being with the kitchen and not the front staff. There was visible shouting and swearing among the staff throughout the night - I even saw one member of staff cry. I saw the owner swear at others on several occasions. We ended up getting a free meal but it was all such a sour experience. We would like to be clear that all fault lies with the head chef/co-boss and not the staff, who seem to live in genuine fear. Won’t ever come again.More

The food was excellent - when it arrived. Our waiter came several times to apologise for the delays. It took 20+ minutes for the drinks to arrive and the best part of an hour for the food. The meals though were very good. The lady...owner came to check all was well at the end. When we broached the subject of the long wait her rather curt and dismissive response was that it had been a full restaurant. As I am sure it is full every night, perhaps the owner should employ more staff!More
