We called in here for drinks, having already booked a meal next door at Zinzi's and were blown away by the gorgeous setting of the restaurant and bar. It has a magical atmosphere being surrounded by trees, with running water features and with both indoor and outdoor seating areas.
The bar service was second to none, with the chief waiter regularly checking that we were ok, even though we were not eating. The restaurant is obviously very popular, as it was completely full on a Wednesday evening.
The lodges are on stilts, look very luxurious, are very private and sit well above the ground close to inter-connecting walkways.
Although we only stayed a short while, we enjoyed it so much that we would definitely go back again for a meal and possibly stay in a lodge up in the tree tops, if ever we visited again.
Well recommended.

This place was paradise. From the moment we arrived til the minute we left it was everything you could dream of.
We were greeted with two glasses of Champagne by the staff and talked through the residence and it's surroundings by the marvelous Nicki.
We were then escorted to our Treetop Lodge and the enthusiasm and excitement from Nikki by watching our reaction to the room was so refreshing. The private Plunge Pool at the room was so cool and the room itself was elegance personafied.
A complimentary bottle of Prosecco to celebrate our engagement was a lovely touch by the staff.
We dined in Zinzis and Sage @ The Hunters Lodge. Zinzi was our more preferred option with a more lively and vibrant atmosphere and top quality food.
The breakfast each morning was exquisite and had so many options.
Our only regret about Tsala is that we didn't have longer there!

Delicious dinner. The chef puts a lot of thought and effort into making each dish special. The flavours were perfect with all of our dishes; nothing was overwhelming, just perfectly balanced and cooked to perfection. All the dishes were interesting and tasty. The chef knows his stuff.
Portions were generous.
The service from the staff was impeccable and we had a wonderful evening.

Beautiful place and really incredible service. Staff manners are amazing. Truly a world class venue and service.
The negatives here were the dish flavors which were very average considering the prices and the surrounding setting. I'd expect more from a chef and the 'fine dining' expectation.
We had lamb (mains), muscles (starter) and a lentil salad (starter). The lentil salad was absolutely delicious, but the muscles were way too sour (too much lemon in the sauce, and in general, the dish had nothing special about it). Portion size is massive so I'd suggest picking either a starter or desert, it would be difficult to finish all three, hence we skipped desert. The two lamb dishes were below average and could have come from any restaurant. No x factor here for R295 a dish - quite disappointing.

My partner and I had the pleasure of staying at Tsala on our South Africa garden route trip and there are really very few words for how magical this place is. From the moment we walked In we were treated like family and made to feel very special. The people at Tsala are magical. Laula went over and above for us everyday as did everybody and thank you to Laula for helping my partner with his illness while we were there, 24 hours later with her advice he was much better.
The treehouses were beautiful, comfort beds, wonderful bathrooms with a bath tub of dreams and views over nothing but forest! The plunge pool was also a lovely bonus on those hotter days. Two nights was not enough is the only advice I would give anyone looking to stay here.
We are already looking at when we can return. Such wonderful people who made our trip! Thank you Tsala we miss you already.

This place is absolutely incredible. You have your own private pool, and even an outdoor shower if you fancy it :)
You have your own designated private treehouse, which includes a living room with fireplace and balcony, large bedroom with bathroom (shower and bathtub). All the drinks in minibar are complimentary and regularly topped up.
We had dinner here too and it was absolutely delicious. This place is a dream for any couples who want to escape busy environments and just be immersed in African nature. You might even see a Knysna Turaco bird or monkey in the treetops (which we saw!!)

Had an excellent Valentines evening, we were treated like gold, and the little finishing touches, like personalised menus, just added to the absolutely perfectly cooked and presented meals! Well done, and thank you!

What a stunning location!! It's a great concept and obviously a lot of thought went into designing the venue...most impressive. The service was great and the accommodation was perfect. My only gripe, and that of my friend as well, is that we did not enjoy the meals we had at supper...both meals were extremely fatty and greasy and we both felt sick afterwards. Breakfast was a winner though.

We ate in the restaurant one night of our stay at Tsala. Unfortunately it was a chilly night and whilst we sat by the fire the doors were open and we felt the cold. The food was good and they tried really hard to make it feel like a fine dining experience - personalised menus, canapés, a palate cleanser - but this didn't quite work with the wholesome food and it seemed to make the staff uptight and formal. A few tweaks and we are sure they will get it right.

Thank you! Beautiful room, friendly staff (especially the people who take care on the rooms and the whole estate).
Positives:
Rooms
Estate as such
Most personel
Lots of little extra efforts
Room service
Clean
Service in general
Atmosphere in restaurants is good
Dislikes:
Food in Restaurants is not that good in my view (Zenzi is good)
Variety of restaurants (they seem to be all using the same ingredients)
Variety of breakfast buffet
Wine list (missing top notch wines)
Wine by the glass list (please offer some blends by the glass and more choice)
Others:
Its like in the jungle, therefore there is a lot of maintenance necessary to keep the hotel in good shape. Well done!
Pricing is a bit expensive in my view, given the level of hospitality. Nevertheless a trip worth.
Thanks to the team
