We popped in today whilst passing as it looked like it had a lovely view. We only wanted a light lunch but we were warmly welcomed by the waiter who could not have been more helpful. Food was delicious and well priced and we had a lovely chat with the owner and other staff who gave us recommendations for dinner. Try it out if you haven’t already

We came to the Burnt Orange on Valentines day 2024, although we are from the area, we had never been before. We were so impressed! We were greeted and sat at our table (which we had pre-booked) promptly. The table decoration was beautiful and we were presented with a welcome drink and a pre-starter (as part of their valentine menu). We were served all night by Sophia, who was absolutely wonderful. Happy, pleasant, professional, extremely helpful and attentive. We had a wonderful 3 course meal, which was all delicious and cooked to perfection. The presentation of the food was brilliant. They had also organised a singer and guitarist to play music and encouraged us to get up and have a dance, which we did and by the end of our meal there were several couples up and dancing. The weather was mild so we were able to sit outside on the deck which was lovely, although we could see seating inside too. The toilets were clean and tidy too. All in all we had an absolute blast and we look forward to going back soon!

Great restaurant, found it on our way to town and were totally surprised that they still had spaces available for us while other restaurants were fully booked. The staff was very friendly! The food was delicious and prices were very fair. A must do when you visit plettenberg bay! Would recommend it for sure! The mussels are great!

Truly overpriced. Bread was stale, mussels tiny, and R 150 for a Greek Salad seems excessive. Simply very disappointing if I compare it to yesterday's lunch at 34 Degrees South in Knysna. Don't bother! Maybe just for a drink with a lovely view.

Venue is nice enough, nice setting and table layout decent, my main grype was pricing!! WhT you get for what you pay, my gosh! Seems like most rezzies in Plett change their menus to rape the visitors..? Went twice to BO and twice we got nailed with stupid prices for nibbles! Food was decent enough but stupid prices….big let down….

Beautiful lagoon views, wonderful setting. We found our meals to be quite pricey. Food was average. Bill for two of us - sharing a prawn tempura starter, chicken pie served with vegetables and burger with chips as main. Glass of wine each. With tip was just over R700.

Good food but small portions for the price one must question if they have “holiday” pricing to score on the influx of holiday tourists.
The whole experience was spoilt by the live music by Minx which was awful to say the least. Was not possible to carry on a conversation as was so loud.

Food is awesome! Service is even better!
We were 11 people that they had to accommodate an hour before the kitchen were to close. Keith had no problem setting us up a table and serving us phenomenal food with the greatest of professionalism well after closing time.
We were also very impressed with the knowledge Keith had about every single item on the menu - and everything he recommended was of the highest of standard! Steak was cooked to perfection and everything was freshly prepared and delicious.
We will definitely be back when we visit the coast again.

Located at the Ski Boat Club in Plettenbergbay, this restaurant offers excellent service and well prepared food. The meat dishes were prepared exactly as ordered and very tasty. The chef and his staff were friendly and made us feel at home. Good experience.

A first time most awful experience ever and the worst meal I have ever been presented in my life, as per the below pic of the meal. To make matters worse, the Owner and Manageress refused to do the right thing and appologise.
The restaurant was not full and the service was excellent, the ambiance, music and setting was very pleasant.
I ordered the Garlic and Chilli Kebabs with chips and side salad. I was shocked to be served the Lemon and Herb Kebabs, which I never ordered, which where insipid with a bowl of Chilli sauce with chips and side salad!! . I asked the waiter if they could please cook the chicken a little more. This is what I was finally presented for R129!! Burnt Kebabs and a white sauce bowl of lettuce leaves and mayonnaise. A total Rip off! I complained to the waiter and in no time the rude and most impolite Manageress was at the table and I asked her if she would pay R129 for this shocking meal!!. She said yes and in the next breath she said she would deduct my meal from the bill. The bill arived and my meal was not deducted and I asked the waiter to please redo our bill.In a flash again the most unfriendly manageress was at our table and grabbed the bill off the table and instructed us to leave immediately and to never go back to the restuarant again. Totally distraught and shell shocked as to how we were treated, my elderly Aunt and myself picked up our drinks to finish them at the bench at entrance of the Angling club. The Owner then flew out of the side door of the restuarant and said' you not leaving with our ' F#@g glasses too are you?' Politely I said no we will finish our drinks and then leave!
Mr Owner/ Mrs Manageress what reputation are you giving our beautiful Plett ?
Both of your behaviour was dispicable and totally unacceptable!!! Shame on you!!
...And.. please dont reply trying to defend yourselves and say I sent my food back twice and that you did deduct my meal from the bill, as that is being dishonest and a blatant lie!
From previous recent reviews I have read, you aught to be ashamed of yourselves!

You were rude and totally irrational.We asked if you would like something else.And you refused to have anything else.
I have your voided tab here for your meal which we didnt charge for.And we have everything on our cameras to prove this
So please stop with your blatant lies and trying to run our establishment down

I used to love the old venue which was rustic but charming. It is too big and impersonal now. We were the first in for dinner but two of the starters were already sold out. The mains were good but expensive for what they were. We had a dinner on a Karoo Farm the following night which cost less than 50% and exceeded our expectations by 200%. Sorry but I won't be back.

I had been wanting to visit Burnt Orange for quite some time, and at last, made time to go there for lunch, but oh, what a disappointment!
I hadn't even sat down yet, and was asked by the waiter what I wanted to drink.
I ordered fish cakes with a side salad. R115. I felt the prices were totally over the top, I mean, R115 for 2 small fish cakes and a tiny side salad????
The fish cakes were tasteless, and the sweet chilli sauce served with them, did not complement them at all, in fact, the opposite. The filling was crumbly and just fell apart when I cut into it, and so was difficult to eat, and I might add, was tasteless as well. The only saving grace was the tiny side salad.

The menu is not big but you can choose any one of them and be satisfied. We were three and had stake, pasta and duck as mains. All of them perfectly done. The service is very friendly and the location on the water make it a great place for couples or friends to spend enjoyable time together.

We had a fantastic lunch at The Burnt Orange last Sunday. Great Atmosphere,Live Music playing and the service from Dean was brilliant.I had the Best Pork Belly I have ever had and my Husband had the Chalmer Steak which was so tender.
We will definately be back on our next visit to Plett
