Great place for those who are vegan and gluten free. I bought a sourdough loaf and have really enjoyed it. Light and airy, you have many choices of where to sit. Friendly, efficient service and a nice range of options.
In Grahamstown for the National Arts Festival. Hopped into Haricot for lunch.
Relaxed and nice ambience.
Service was way too slow and it is suprising that it be the case during the festival because most people have shows in between.
The Turkish Spinach pie was...below average.
After waiting for over 30 minutes for food, we settled for the buffett which no one offered on arrival. The waiter don’t seem to have received any training. The Buffett was good.
I wouldn’t come again.More
5 Star food and service!
I spent a quiet private night with family, celebrating my birthday. It was my first time at Haricot’s and I must say, it will not be my last. Everything was absolutely perfect. We began with Greek salad and Avocado Ritz....The ingredients were incredibly fresh and great attention was placed on the small details. The feta cheese was very high quality, kept in a brine that was not overpowering. The mild saltiness complimented the other ingredients perfectly. The Avocado Ritz was a very upscale surprise. The avocado was so perfectly ripe and creamy. All of the ingredients were a beautiful symphony in a cocktail glass. Very sophisticated presentation. My wife and I could not agree on our main meals, so we chose to throw caution to the wind and settled on three different main dishes which we sampled and shared among the family. We had the fillet steak, chicken schnitzel, and seafood platter.
The steak was a perfect medium, the schnitzel was breaded in very high quality crumb, which actually imparted a much higher level of flavor. Every component of the seafood platter was plated and finished with a tremendous amount of finesse and polish which showcased each ingredient.
The bathroom was very clean and tidy, the staff was timely and professional. I can only recommend this establishment. My only complaint is that I live several hours away. I will continue to come back time and time again.
A true gem of a restaurant that Grahamstown should be very proud of.
I can not even remember when was the last time I ate frozen veggies in my life, not to even mention at a restaurant. Sorry but that spoiled the whole meal. The meal would have been average if the veggies was real. If I pay...to eat somewhere, I do not feel like frozen veggies with my steak! The wine list is good. Just go for wine. The place is beautiful. It has a lot of potential!More
I travel for business and find myself faced with chain store cuisine as the only option for sustenance. Whilst the fast food industry serves some purpose it's so good to be able to sit down to something delicious and relatively quick.
This used to be our favorite spot in town...warm wooden tables , amazing menu and delicious meals and wonderful ambiance. Booked in last night to discover it's lit up like a prison break, filled with plastic chairs and more than half empty at 8pm on...Saturday night The short and uninspired a menu offered on well tattered menus from the local copy shop actually chased us away. Not sure if ownership has changed? We can't vouch for the food anymore because as I said, we didn't stay. But wanted to let others know it certainly doesn't feel like the fantastic Haricot's we knew and loved from before. So sad...More
Off the beaten track but an incredible bistro. Top marks to the staff and chef for a really amazing restaurant.
