Really good service and great food

Really good service and great food. I can recommend the Biltong Steak it was delicious. Chicken Pasta was another good choice. Also the burgers were a good option of your want to keep it simple and delicious They have a good selection of craft beers and craft Gin. I wish they offered more Gin mixes. Space is rather cosy, when it gets busy it can be rather loud making it hard hear. So I would personally suggest lunch time rather. Booking recommended

Bring Me Wine And Wings!!!

I judge a restaurant based on the following things: 1. Customer Service, 2. Wine Menu Variety, and 3. Wings and Chips. The latter is my no. 1 go-to whenever I go out (the second being Pizza) and Sanook has not only met my expectations but they've exceeded them. Sanook is my no. 1 favorite spot to grab a meal. Their wine variety is just superb, our waiter even gave us a guide on which wine would be great to have with our meals. Give Sanook A Try, YOU WON'T REGRET IT.

Outstanding ambience and menu selection

Why not take a stop over while in East London to Sanook eatery in Bonza Bay. The first thing that strikes you is the smiling and warm welcoming at the door. The tables are set in wood grained finish and overhanging romantic lighting. The menu is tempting to the palate and more so to try. Many dishes to choose from all inventive and appealing! Outstanding service at the table and a vivacious Manager on duty. All in all a great welcoming and gastromonically a delight. Well done to all . Book early to avoid disappointment

Cheap catering ingredients, here we go

Quality of food served is an indication of the town we live in, most expensive pizza the Big in Japan, wasabi mayonnaise so hot I could have had a whole green ball at another popular Chinese sushi restaurant in Beacon Bay. The Paeco Chicken bowl had ingredients which were sour. The manager on duty came with an excuse that it was the sauce, although this dish had been tasty on previous visits. The patrons which looks as if they flown in from a Paris or London fashion show clearly enjoy sucking off the catering ribs and chicken bones. A noisy table with about fifteen 10 year olds ruined the mood. Food quality has clearly moved over to catering grade which the previous owners of Sanook would never have done, their passion was good food and not catering ingredients yielding top profits.

Hi there. None of the ingredients we use have changed with the change of ownership. For the wasabi mayo, apologies the kitchen team must have gotten the ratio wrong and we accept responsibility for this. When you refer to the "Paeco Chicken bowl", we can only assume you are referring to the Gochujang Panko Chicken Bowl which yes, has a homemade sauce that has a limited shelf life. Again, we apologize for this and accept responsibility that that was not checked and tested before serving the dish and I have addressed this with management. We understand that you may not return to our establishment, but with regards to your issues with the other patrons dress code and behaviour, we would recommend that you ask to be moved (if it's possible) if you are uncomfortable in an area. Lastly, I am passionate about what we do and the food we serve but we are also human, and we make mistakes. We learn from them and try our best to be better each day. Kind Regards Alex

We ordered food for the family from Sanooks Beacon Bay in East London. When the food arrived and the different meals were distributed to the family we noticed that the chicken dishes were smelling badly,. We found that the chicken was not fresh and if anyone ate it they would have been very sick. I did phone the restaurant and reported the situation. I was told that someone would call me back. No one called, it’s now a day later.

Don’t waste your time or your money

An awfully overrated place. The food is sloppy, poorly presented, it is clear there is no longer a proper chef involved. You’re basically paying restaurant prices for fast food quality food. Don’t waste your money

We can only say that Sanook failed to impress us. Both venues were a disappointment: Berea, 1st visit the hamburger orderred was raw, it took too long to be served. 2nd visit the staff were fighting amongst each other, with very unpleasnt language. 3rd visit at Beacon Bay is described in the direct message

The Thai Latte and Steak yoh

Went for dinner on a cold and miserable night only to find the place was packed. We had to sit outside, undercover with a heater but was worth it. The biltong and cream cheese steak and Chai Lattes were awesome. Desert was salted caramel cheese cake. Beautiful

Extensive menu, great value, and great food

We were in East London for 1 night, so booked here based on reviews. It was an excellent choice, with safe parking outside. The menu is remarkably extensive and good value, and we all enjoyed our meals. Would definitely return, next time in East London.

You'll need to book at peak times which seems to be 1800 -1900. Understandably because the good and service are really good and great value. Wines also at an affordable mark up.

Delicious, generous, hearty food!

Visited Sanook Beacon Bay with my husband and toddler. Service was fantastic! Food was excellent. I had prawn and chorizo pasta (very generous!) and my husband had pollo pasta, delish and very generous portion! Great wine list even by the glass. High chair for kiddos, only gripe was nowhere to change a nappy! I had to change on the floor.

Pizza take away, was not informed 2 pay R36 4 condiments. Eating in 4 free, tobasco, spices etc. Paying R200 4 a pizza, NO, never again.

Excellent dishes well considered

A great evening out, in a casual yet authentic setting. We shared a tuna poke bowl with black rice as a starter, that was simply said - exceptional. For mains we enjoyed a biltong and blue cheese burger, as well as a fish linguini pasta that was done in a tomato and cream sauce, with shrimp, mussles and fish. Both were excellent. All dishes used fresh spices with just a touch of an eastern/Thai goodness. Good service from friendly Lina, and well overseen by manageress Maxine. Well recommended.
