lovely veggie place in the hills of isla bastimentos. went there to celebrate and got great homemade vegetarian food, make sure you reserve a spot in advance as there are only a few seats (like 15 or so). highly recommended.

We came for dinner ealy and were able to enjoy a cold drink in a lovely thatched hut. Very relaxing and enjoyable. The food was delicious and all produced from their property This was the highlight of our daughters trip to visit us.We will definitely...be backMore
This wonderful little restaurant, an easy walk above Old Bank in Bastimentos is a real treat. Michelle the owner/chef takes pride in her food and it shows. We were treated to a feast for our dinner. We started with a delicious salad with greens that...grow wild on the grounds. There were tasty kidney beans, rice, a huge veggie platter with outstanding eggplant, peppers and numerous other yummy veggies. There was a flat bread with potato - simple and delicious. If you are a vegan this is not to be missed but even if you are not you will not be disappointed.More
Thank you so much for your lovely words, I'm really happy that you enjoyed it.
PROS: - Michelle our host is soooo sweet, really goes out of her way to make things comfortable for you - I hate coffee, but the coffee Michelle uses is the best thing me and my wife have ever had, better than anything you will...find in the states--- get the coffee!!! - The room literally feels like you are living in a jungle!!!! - coolest part was when it rains--- it hits the shingles on the roof and makes a cool sound - eat breakfast there-- the food is really really good. - best part is hearing all the creatures at night CONS: - WIfi is spotty--- but who cares you're in the jungle!!! - It is a trek to get there! You will most likely get lost if traveling in the dark, so bring a flashlight--- you will walk a lot with your luggages. But trust me its worth it at the end.More
This was a really fun trek through the jungle. Too bad they don't have a cold beer at the top once you get there, but there coffee is good. They sell resale items and are friendly, but make sure you bring water and a camera.
We had delicious breakfast with authentic jungle view. Try the hot chocolate! The tour was amazing and very interesting. Would definetely recommend it!
Stayed with Ash for way more nights then expected. Absolutely loved it there! We were going to travel the other islands but felt very comfortable and away from tourist here but also close enough to see everything we wanted! The walk up the first time...seems intimidating but after you know where it is you can walk up and down many times a day! Everything was cleaned and we ate many dinners there and breakfast is included! Ash is a great guy and I really feel like we got to know him and hope he comes and stays with us when he visits Canada next! All the best Ash, love your spot and keep up the hard work in your paradise (and ours)!! Chrissy :)More
Great vegetarian food! Nice atmosphere & great view for a fair price.. the walk to the location is nice and it is on the way to the beach.
This place is a good option to spend an afternoon drinking, eating, snorkling, chilling. They have loud music that gives a good ambiance. The waiters/waitress were really nice. There are a lot of people, so i would recommend that you arrive at the opening (12h)...eat there, and choose a spot before there are too many people.More
Homemade coconut milk, vegetables and fruits from the garden, eggs from their own hens, cocoa seeds from the neighbour. Breakfasts and lunches just marvelous. Everything made with passion. For me the highest rate because even iced chocolate was delicious with crushed cocoa seeds and home...made coconut milk.More
Amazing vegetarian restaurant in the jungle. The view is amazing and the owners are lovely. The walk from old bank up to the restaurant is already amazing.
Thank you so very much, we are grateful for your review and super happy that you enjoyed the space we have tried to create. Come back and oh tell all your friends. ha ha Much love & happiness Michelle xx
One rather grey and wet day we decided to take a short walk up the hill behind Old Bank to check out Coco Hill. We were so glad we did because we had an excellent meal. We ate soup, spring rolls and black bean burgers...and everything was delicious. The beer was cold and the view was exquisite. It's a short and easy walk not too far from Old Bank so don't let that deter you. Call ahead to ensure they are cooking food and ready for you. You will not be disappointed.More
Perfect location, very good vege meal (I'm a meat lover). Michelle is just awesome, the service, the spirit of the place, everything was nice. We went twice during the week and appreciated both times. Felt like behing home but in paradise.
Please note that dinner is by reservation only so plan ahead. We were fortunate that some other people had made a reservation and canceled which opened up space for us at the last minute. Bring good hiking shoes, flashlights, maybe a walking stick as the...walk up is an adventure. Nothing to strenuous but worth keeping in mind. The owner is an excellent host and chef. We had a group of 4 so we tried 4 different dishes and split them all. All the food was great but my favorite was a roasted eggplant on coconut bread. Each of the plates had creativity and I enjoyed the mix of flavors from their fresh ingredients.More
Everything was perfect. The cook was nice and surprised us with an awesome dinner (my best one in a while). I loved the atmosphere, too chilling out, much better than in Bocas or Basti. I did not know that she had bungalows too, I would...go for it. Really opposite to all those crowed restaurants with happy hours. We returned the next night.More
